How often have we read...
How often have we read Sinophobic posts from members decrying the purchase of this or that piece of Australia by Chinese corporations? Here we have an example of a South African family purchasing NT Cattle Stations. Anything to say about this or is it just the Chinese who get lambasted?

Re: How often have we read...
• UK – 27.5 million ha (52.7% of foreign-owned agricultural land, or 7.2% of total Australian agricultural land)
• USA – 7.7 million ha (14.8% of foreign-owned or 2% of total agricultural land)
• Netherlands – 2.98 million ha (5.7% of foreign-owned or 0.8% of total)
• Singapore – 1.9 million ha (3.6% of foreign-owned or 0.5% of total)
• China – 1.5 million ha (2.8% of foreign-owned or 0.4% of total)
• Philippines – 1.1 million ha (2.2% of foreign-owned or 0.3% of total)
• Switzerland – 1.1 million ha (2.1% of foreign-owned or 0.3% of total)
• Jersey – 0.9 million ha (1.8% of foreign-owned or 0.25% of total)
• Indonesia – 0.8 million ha (1.5% of foreign-owned or 0.2% of total)
• Japan – 0.7 million ha (1.3% of foreign-owned or 0.18% of total)
It would seem that 10% of Australias agricultural land is owned by the UK, USA and Netherlands...
China runs a dismal 5th...these stats are 4 years old....

I personally believe that all foreign investment in all sectors should be limited to 49% of the particular investment.

Poor diddums. Triggered by all the anti-China sentiment on this forum, are we?
Yeah, I have something to say. I'm opposed to all sale of land to foreign investment regardless of which country they originate from. China just happens to be more prevalent and "in your face".
Unlike you, charlatan. You're opposed to foreign investment if said investors are "white".
Not long ago you crapped on about how all Australians need to pay the coons back because "we" supposedly "stole" their land.. your logic was, we need to pay because we capitalized and benefited off the misfortune of those poor, oppressed coons.
And yet, you won't say a word about chinks or muslims, coming to our country, purchasing land that, in your view, is rightfully the coons'. Foreign entities just coming alone and "capitalizing" off of the poor coon's misfortune.
Make up your mind. Who should own our land, hmm? The chinks, the Muslims or the coons?
Pick one. You can't have your cake and eat it too, though lord knows, you try. Tsk tsk!

I think every country should consider limiting the foreign purchase of their land. A country as small as Australia (population wise) would be even more vulnerable to foreign influence than a larger country. It should at least be talked about.

Yes, it should be talked about and it should be talked about in a non-racist way. Unfortunately reboot fails in that regard, as does Black Orchid and others.
49% is a good figure, Red. Excellent. A constructive start. Hey?

I'd rather 10000 Chinese than 1 muzzo.

Hastie is right on the mark with his comparison of Chinese expansionism with Nazi imperialism.
And I have no problem being labelled Sinophobic.
A year or so ago, on a topic based mainly about share markets ect, I stated I ignore public Co share prices in favour of commodities, precious metals in particular. At the time I stated Gold was over priced at $1,700 p/o compared with platinum at $1,400 p/o, but would soon hit the $2k mark, and if I had the spare cash to play the market I'd buy palladium (required for catalytic converters and production can't be ramped up).
Well Gold's now $2,300 p/o (suggests shooting war imminent - probably Iran), platinum's still about $1,900 p/o, and palladium's well over $3k.
If China cuts supply of rare earths (neodymium in particular) war is close.

If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?
