An employer has defended a job advertisement discouraging "over entitled millennials" after Seek forced her to remove the statement as it allegedly breached age discrimination requirements.
Among common qualities such as being well-presented, eager to learn and proficiency with a computer, the listing stated: "unfortunately, the successful applicant will not be an over entitled millennial with an inflated sense of entitlement."
The licensee of the Warilla Licensed Post Office, Angela Cramp, says the statement wasn't a joke.
"We want someone who understands that it is an entry-level job," she told nine.com.au.
"If they think they will be equal to people who have been doing this job for five years just because they got there on the first day, then I'd rather them not bother or waste our time applying for our job."
The statement was removed from the listing after Seek contacted Ms Cramp saying the language used breached anti-discrimination laws.
"It is by no means age discrimination, I have five millennials working for me now," she said.
"It's time to get through to young people - there are job requirements, you need to take instructions and if you've never heard the word 'no' in your life, this isn't for you so don't waste your time or mine in applying."
She says employers are looking for someone who "can accept they are at the bottom of the pecking order".
"If they have expectations that they will be in charge of the business on the first day, then they will not be successful in this job," Ms Cramp said.
She said that while the listing may turn some people off applying, she has still received a significant number of applications.
"We have had a lot of applications, so there aren't people who took offence," she said.
"We want a team player and someone who wants to learn our business.
"If they're turned off by the message then maybe they were never going to be successful anyway."

Ive always thought that the anti discrimination act actually discriminates against those who are alleged
to be discriminating....hence the person seeking employees in this case is being discriminated against by not
being permitted to pick and chose who she wants to employ.....
I suppose it would simplify things if the employer simply advertised the position and then culled all applicants
she didnt want without giving any reasons...just like real estate agents cull all applicants for a rental who
the landlord doesn't want, without telling the applicants why they were unsuccessful....
When its all said and done..its all a crock created by the looney left....
To discover those who rule over you, first discover those who you cannot criticize...Voltaire
Its coming...the rest of the world versus islam....or is it here already...

More loony left ...
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Chief Executive Officer David Solomon issued the latest ultimatum Thursday from Davos. Wall Street's biggest underwriter of initial public offerings in the U.S. will no longer take a company public in the U.S. and Europe if it lacks a director who is either female or diverse. Asia is not yet included in the firm’s new policy.

I assume people will go elsewhere and good riddance. What an abominable sexist and racist new policy. Aren't the prog moonbats supposed to be against this?

Another case of double standards which many in the left don't even recognize. They justify it with "Well, you whiteys oppressed us systematically for X amount of years. Now it's our turn."
As for the OP... good on her! I'm a "millennial" and I know too well how people within my age group, and 'Generation
Why', act. Actually, for the most part I find them useless to work with, work is not their priority, they often call in sick and it's left to the people who actually turn up to work to clean up the mess. They continuously get away with this behaviour due to these discrimination laws and so forth.. the world has gone mad.

It's demanding companies put race/gender before capability and merit. That's not a recipe for success in any language.

Love ’em or hate ’em, this much is true: one day soon, millennials will rule America.
This is neither wish nor warning but fact, rooted in the physics of time and the biology of human cells. Millennials–born between 1981 and 1996–are already the largest living generation and the largest age group in the workforce. They outnumber Gen X (born 1965–1980) and will soon outnumber baby boomers (born 1946–1964) among American voters. Their startups have revolutionized the economy, their tastes have shifted the culture, and their enormous appetite for social media has transformed human interaction. American politics is the next arena ripe for disruption.
When it occurs, it may feel like a revolution, in part because this generation has different political views than those in power now. Millennials are more racially diverse, more tuned in to the power of networks and systems and more socially progressive than either Gen X or baby boomers on nearly every available metric. They tend to favor government-run health care, student debt relief, marijuana legalization and criminal-justice reform, and they demand urgent government action on climate change. The millennial wave is coming: the only questions are when and how fast it will arrive.

I love those adds "Aboriginality is seen as a requirement for this cushy job"
In my eyes that is discrimination.
Why is aboriginality seen as a requirement?
Why isn't white people Only allowed?
Why isn't men only need apply?
It's discriminatory when any group is mandated.
It's discriminatory when any but one group is denied.
But as taboos are perhaps the most racist of any culture on earth, it's quite acceptable for them.
Too bad they are all lazy, parasitical racist waiting to pass the final stages of irrelevance.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

No, it's not. Identity politics seems to take precedent over any other issues, to the point it has seeped into places it shouldn't be in. It's just laughable that those who implement these stupid quotas don't see the irony in it.

It is most definitely discrimination. They will regret hiring the coons, as they need half a year off for "funeral days".
