The ABC understands a Large Air Tanker has crashed while fighting a blaze in southern NSW.
In a statement, the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) said "contact had been lost with a Large Air Tanker which was working in the Snowy Monaro area".
"Local ground crews indicate the aircraft may have crashed," the statement said.
"A number of helicopters are in the area carrying out a search.
"No further information is available at this time."
There is an emergency warning in place for a blaze burning towards Adaminaby, in the Snowy Monaro region.

LOL
Do people under 50 still have sex when the power goes out and there is no TV? People over 50 have better things to do.
No power outage in my area, all services are underground, including electricity. It said "power lines down" so presume the wind had something to do with it.

Yes. That's really sad and horrible news. All from the US who flew out here to help.

Sometimes Nef the over 50 mind is willing but the body is weak!
The "Maker" did that on purpose! Sex is for procreating, not for enjoyment.
Even at 45 you are too old to have to cope with a newborn.

A man has been charged after allegedly deliberately lighting two fires on New South Wales’ bushfire-ravaged South Coast.
The 48-year-old was caught after a passer-by noticed him emerging from bushland with smoke billowing behind him.
Police were alerted to a blaze raging on the side of the Princess Highway in Burrill Lake, just south of Ulladulla, at about 1.30pm on Wednesday.
The fire burnt through about 50sqm of bushland before it was contained by Fire and Rescue NSW.
A police investigation led officers to a home on Canberra Crescent, Burrill Lake, where the 48-year-old was arrested.

He wasn't too smart. If he had done it at night, he would have given the fire time to grow and become harder to control and he could have gotten away easier without being detected. I hope the police investigate his "friends".
Are the media not allowed to release names or photos of people arrested?

Generally, not until they are charged by the Police. Nor are they allowed to publish pictures of the culprits. It is all in order to allow a fair trial to proceed and a fair jury to be entrained.
