But if someone murders someone else then they have no compunction about taking a life. So why not a life for a life ? Saves the taxpayers lots of money keeping a murderer alive for no purpose whatsoever. On the other hand it guarantees the culprit will NEVER do it again.

American Jails are full of people on Death Row and some have been there for 20+ years. Perhaps if they had six months after being convicted to DIE for murdering somebody, it might work? The death penalty as it stands is a joke.
