boxy, why don't you go and have a look at what value for money schools are getting? It's costing them $1 million dollars to build something that usually only costs $500, 000. They are missing out on valuable infrastructure and repairs because too much is being stolen from them and going into the hands of unions, state governments and bloated big business bosses. Tradies aren't making money, the only people benefiting are Labor's union boss and construction boss mates. You approve of this rort? I can't believe people like you exist.

Repeat this 1001 times and send it to this obnoxious little man who is in charge of infrastructure, "Ihurtlittleanimalswhennowoneislooking-Albanese". It's the second most important thing Oz can do to save itself and help save the planet!

And a fringebenefit would be a serious lowering of the road-toll. I wonder how many accidents are caused, directly and indirectly by trucks/lorries.

While I accept that there may be people rorting the system, it is up to the school bureaucrats to administer the funds better, and get value for money. It is still millions of dollars being pumped into the school system, that wouldn't otherwise be available.

No, and nothing I said suggests I do. I simply said that money should be pumped into useful stuff, rather than plasma TVs and playstations.

Idiot.

Seeing as I started out by saying exactly what policy of Rudd's I didn't support... throwing cash at consumers for a Christmas porkbarrelling

Why wouldn't tradies be making money? In fact they are making money, they are putting on extra staff, employing apprentices etc. It is tradies putting up these school halls/libraries/science blocks. the Australian has been running a big campaign re waste etc and so far they have proved nothing. Schools are done to very rigorous standards and so they should be.
