I read that 87% of fires are started by humans, only 13% started by lightning. I Googled to see what the current penalty for convicted arsonists is and got this. Let's hope it is acted on and Magistrates don't just give them a slap on the wrist!

The non-parole period for convicted arsonists will increase from five years to nine years to help protect lives and property.
