The Bible never condemns self defense. Jesus condemns retaliation in kind. If a shooter drops his wallet as he leaves a church, we aren't to go to his house and blow him away. Self defense is totally justified. He doesn't command that you practice self defense but he doesn't condemn it either. When Peter cut off the ear of a priest's servant who came to arrest Jesus, Jesus didn't tell Peter that he sinned. He only told him that his arrest was God's will and necessary to fulfill prophecies. The Reboot wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 12:34 pmI am well aware of the differences between Jesus and Muhammed.. however, in a vast sea of people who dedicate and have dedicated their lives to their chosen religion, they are but individuals.Texan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 2:55 pmJesus and Mohammed have completely different messages. There's nothing wrong with thinking something -- that quite frankly, has nothing to do with you -- is immoral and those said people engaging in that which has nothing to do with you should be shunned... what, because a fairy tale "God" says so?
Of course, you are entitled to your opinion. As I'm entitled to mine.
The bible bashers of the world often criticize Islam when, if you think about it, should sympathize with the Hijab wearing fucks. I mean, they both believe in the same thing. That poofters should be shunned and killed, as well as people having... God forbid... sex outside of marriage!
The only difference being is Christianity is neutered to fit in with the "modern world", where as Islam is still barbaric. Christianity is coward's Islam. Instead of stoning a poofter to death they will just burn a piece of rainbow coloured material, or go on forums and cry because there are people in the world with contrary opinions and beliefs to that of the Bible. Other "groups" of people suddenly get rights and the Christians cry to the heavens that the end is nigh and these other groups are taking away their "rights" to judge and criticize people who have their own minds and don't subscribe to the narrow, outdated framework of the bible.
What I am referring to is large groups of human beings who think they have some sort of moral superiority because they grew up believing in an ancient fairy tale text that basically sets the parameters of how one should and shouldn't live their lives.
Both Islamists and Christians suffer this psychological affliction. They are enslaved to their religions, only many Islamists go to the extreme and are happy to kill others for Allah. The faith remains in its barbaric stages, where as Christianity has grown out of it for the most part, instead adopting a holier-than-thou snobbery and being judgmental of, let's say, homosexuality. In fact, that hairy bearded ape looking dickhead who burned the Rainbow flag is a perfect example. He thinks he's hurting all gays' pride and doing "God's Will"... he is using his religion as an excuse to sow hatred for humanity, or people that think differently to himself. He doesn't think there's anything wrong with this, because he thinks he has the "okay" by God to do it, cause that ol' fairy tale says it's immoral.
You bring your guns to church? You have no problem "defending" to protect your life or your friends or family's in church?
Yeah... I don't think Jesus would approve, to be honest.
Wasn't it he who said:
“ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Jesus teaches you to turn the other cheek and love thy neighbour. What if "thy neighbour" happens to be a dirty immoral fag?
You have to love the people that storm the church and shoot up the place. It isn't your place to judge, cause God will, remember?
Don't get me wrong, I'm of the pro-gun view and I think it's great you can carry them for self-defence. It just doesn't quite fit in with what Jesus commanded, ya' know?
Burning a poofter flag gets 15 years jail.

Dear Reboot,
We can only hope that this prophet of Jesus will
get his rights of free speech back from a proper judge.
Jesus turned over the tables at the temple and was crucified for it.
This man only burnt a homo flag and got 15 years.
He follows in the footsteps of Christ who would have done the same thing.
Maybe America has a better judge than Pontius Pilate?
We can only hope that the prophets of poofters get their rights back too. You know, after so-called devout Jesus disciples bashed them for simply loving somebody that sports the same junk as them
Why aren't the Christians saying "sorry" for persecuting "witches" in Salem? Where was their free speech when they were burned alive?
It's a two-way street. Christians cry about their rights of "free speech" being taken away from them, when they have been silencing those who disagree for years before all of this politically correct BS came along and adopted gays as one of their mascots of oppression. Now the tables are turned and they are bitching about freedom of speech when if it suits them, if they had their way -- gays would be burning on a stake alongside those "witches" to this day. It's hypocrisy at it's finest, only Christians are more subtle than say Islam.
As for Jesus, nobody can say what he would or wouldn't have done, though I think burning a flag is pretty low on the list of any sane person's priorities. I can see you doing it though, Bobs.
I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy. Not just of that dropkick you so pity, but those that "empathize".
It is unsettling that the crimes of this perp is ignored in favour of burning a flag.. because the flag represents some political bullshit. We are in scary times when judges and laws prioritize "hate speech" over theft, damage to property, and going by the way the world is going, people with their desensitized little pea brains, soon rape and murder will take a backseat.
The holy wars between religions and political correctness is all just a pointless farce full of hypocrisy. You're all on the same coin, but you're so caught up in your BS you don't even realize you're all the same. "Poofter activists", bible bashers and the like.

The bible says "turn the other cheek". So hypothetically, God expects you to sit back and let it happen. It's "God's will", and only "God" can judge the mass murderers.Texan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 5:56 pmThe Bible never condemns self defense. Jesus condemns retaliation in kind. We could sit here and debate about what the bible says and doesn't say all day. It's difficult without context, and this is why in the past through to today, it's caused so many problems. Individual humans take from it suits them and justifies their crimes and hatred by saying "it's God's Will". You can't tell me that they don't.

I never said that they don't. I said that retribution through crime is against Jesus' teachings. I only said that self defense was not against his teachings. Why did Jesus tell Peter to sell his cloak and buy a sword in Luke 22? What use would an obedient pacifist have for a sword? The Reboot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 2:37 pmThe bible says "turn the other cheek". Jesus gave permission to protest as he did it himself:
Matthew 21:12-13 KJV
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple,
and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written,
My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Interesting!
Most people, including most Greens Party members are ignorant of the Greens religious wing/arm - The Rainbow Family.
They claim to have "no leaders" but from what I saw they're run by a bunch of New York gay Jews.
These (mostly) feral vegetarians look like a bunch of modern day hippies with dreds and face metal.
They have their own (very left wing) sub-culture and pseudo-lingo.
For example America and the capitalist world in general (varies) is called "Babylon".
3 main rules for attending a Rainbow Gathering are; No dogs, no electronic devices (especially cameras) and no eating meat in front of others.
Homosexuality isn't just tolerated, it's encouraged. They have quasi workshops called "circles" for just about everything, from Hawaiian massage to making bark rope. Their poo puncher get togethers are called "fairy circles"
They put up multiple makeshift flag poles with rainbow flags on them around the dinner circle.
Y'know with no cameras, I reckon I could wipe my arse on their flags and get away with it.
