One thing which fell out of Brian's head, was that he said that he did not mind if all of Europe became Muslim "provided it is done democratically."

Well, y'know, the ISIS caliphate would never have grown so large if not for the fact that the local Christians, Yazidis, etc., went to the ballot box and voted in Baghdadi as their president.
He promised them a chicken in every pot and a goat in every bedroom.

You really do have problems with the concepts of democracy, don't you? Tsk, tsk.
I am surprised as well by 4E's unwillingness to upbraid you, Bogan. He who proclaims himself t be a true supporter of democracy.

America is not a democracy. We are a democratic republic. You are talking tyranny of the majority.
Was it Benjamin Franklin who compared democracy to 2 wolves and a lamb deciding on what to have 4 dinner? The republic is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.
Our Constitution guarantees certain rights. A majority vote doesn't override these rights.

The Europeans will not allow their democracies to be taken over by a fascist religion that does not even believe in democracy, Brian. Before that happens, you are going to see a civil war, democracy or no.
Both the North and the South of the USA were democracies, Brian. But when the cultural differences between North and South became too glaring, there was nothing to do except to either partition of go to war. My presumption is that the Europeans will not allow Islam to partition Europe into Muslim Europe and non Muslim Europe. it would not work anyway if they did. Muslim Europe would be just as backward a shithole like every other Muslim country and the Muslims would then want to immigrate from Muslim Europe into non Muslim Europe.
If the Europeans still want to strut and preen to show how un racist they are, they are going to lose their own homelands. Pretty soon, they will be wishing that der fuehrer was back. The only reason that they have not risen up already is because the allied armies seem to have killed off the best of them.

And yet the US citizens like to proclaim that their nation is a democracy - not the largest, not the best, but a democracy. Of course they generally leave out the "republic" bit when they are invading yet another third world nation that has decided not to do what they proclaim they should do. I think the best quote was by a US Congress person back in 1990 who proclaimed Kuwait a "democracy". It wasn't. It was a monarchy. The Kuwaitis were denied the vote. Oh, dearie, dearie, me.

I don't know what to tell you, Brian. We are a democratic republic with 3 branches of government. Beyond that we are a collaboration of 50 state governments that are democratically elected. Texas even has the distinction of being an independent republic before joining the United States. We have never been majority ruled by popular vote and before the ill conceived 17th Amendment our senators were chosen by state legislatures. We have an electoral college and a bicameral Congress to ensure that smaller states are not ignored. These were the conditions that were negotiated when our union was formed and we are bound to them until our Constitution is amended to say otherwise.

That's a weak comeback, even for you. I must be getting to you.
