What people do not realise is that the inoculations you had as a child NEED a booster shot when you get older.

As far as TB is concerned, when I was a schoolkid, we had to line up to get a shot (on the wrist) to see whether we were "allergic" or something. If you got a lump on the wrist, you didn't get the shot. I got the shot and have a small scar on my upper arm. I thought it was TB but a GP told me that is was more likely to be Cholera.

Was there an out break of Cholera in Victoria, way back?

I had TB inoculations but I was young and don't remember that much about it other than a large round needle dispenser that had circle rows of needles in it that was plunged into my arm. It left a half inch mark on my arm (near the inner elbow) with a whole bunch of little dots lol.

We had to have several of them at intervals of which I cannot remember. 6 months maybe 12 months.

It could have been Smallpox ... I can't remember.

However, we were about to head off overseas so I went to my GP to discuss what shots I would need. He suggested a bunch of things including Yellow Fever and said "just in case your plane gets hijacked to India or somewhere".

I asked him about the scar on my left shoulder and questioned whether it would be TB and he said no .... I think he mentioned Smallpox ... but, like I said, can't remember.

All I remember was being tested at school on the inner wrist. If that test became a "lump" you didn't need the inoculation. I had the inoculation and that became a "scab" (which was sore) and caused a small circular scar on my left shoulder.

Smallpox vaccinations were given in the left upper arm and left a round scar. I have one of them too. Amazingly enough I got it when I first went to Fiji when I was a kid.

Anti-Vaxxers are fools and ignorant fools. They endanger only themselves but as Samoa has proved, the population 'round them. I am in 100% agreement with you, Black Orchid.

I think I need a strong cup o' tea, a Bex and a long lie down.

No, you just need to calm down and realise that not everybody here is your enemy because we have different political views.

It's almost Christmas, time to be nice. ;)
