I can get a pension and the associated benifits when I turn 67

But anyone born after 1960 don't even get a pension or any benifits.
You fools are paying taxes and will get ZERO back.......ever.

But if you are a politician or senior public servant.

I will be retiring in 16 months, possibly sooner it I get the shite with work.
At around 61 to 62
Which means ill be living completely off my super for 5 or 6 years.
That will bring my super balance to a level that gives me a part pension, thus securing my pension benifits.

People of Australia just don't get It
We throw cash at parasites both national and international
We throw cash at wealthy politicians and senior public servants who would not even come close to being eligable under the system we have to go through.
We throw cash at deadbeat countries that hate us.
And we allow multinationals and billionaires to get away with ZERO tax.

It's time this waste is stopped.
Time to take these assholes back in line and working for Australia.

I think this would depend on the value of your assets...

I think you are correct Billy. The Age Pension will still be available to those who need it, even if it is only a part Pension. Superannuation was introduced so that people would be able to fund their own retirement. However, those who reach 65/67 who don't have enough Superannuation or haven't ever worked in their lives, will still get the Age Pension.

There is no rule that you have to wait until you are 65 to "retire" just that you can't get the Age Pension until that age. I know lots of people who retired in their mid-50s, some get a part Age Pension now, others live off their Super. ALL own their own homes and still take holidays overseas, annually. It all depends on your Life Style.

Currently, your home is not taken into account as an asset, but word has it that they might "do something" about that. They wouldn't dare, surely?

I looked it up. Those born after 1957 apparently get the pension (if eligible) when they turn 67.
