I once opposed the idea of Australia possessing nuclear weapons in the hope that every other country in the world would see how suicidally dangerous the idea of every country having nuclear weapons would be. Norway almost started world war 3 when it innocently fired a weather rocket which was picked up by the USSR's ABM radars, and it was seriously considered by their Strategic rocket Arm to be an incoming US first strike nuclear attack. Brezhnev was minutes away from ordering a nuclear retaliation, when somebody remembered that the Norwegians had previously announced the missile launch. That is how close the world came to catastrophe.

But we live today in a different world, where tin pot countries with psychophas for leaders are doing their best to acquire nuclear weapons. Australia itself has been threatened with a nuclear strike by North Korea, a country ruled by a dictatorship right out of George Orwell's "1984". In addition, since people like Brian Ross is part of the process which has seen our Defence procurement system commit hugely expensive blunder after blunder in defence acquisitions, then since our defences are so woeful, nuclear weapons would give our defences some real credibility. Iraq has a similar population size to Australia. Under Saddam Hussein it had 42 armoured, mechanised, and infantry divisions. Australia has in effect, a single infantry division. That comparison shows how woeful our defence forces really are.

Brian Ross askes where the money is coming from? Well Brian, how about we stop importing poverty into Australia and only take immigrants and refugees who can stand on their own two feet, and be a benefit to our country instead of a serious economic drain, and a crime and terrorism problem? Next, the Department of Aboriginal Affairs is the only Australian government department dedicated to the welfare of one particular race, to the tune of an incredible $62 billion dollars a year. Brian Ross would have to agree that it is unacceptable to have a government department dedicated to one race since "there is only one race, the human race." Therefore the Department of Aboriginal Affairs is a racist organisation, and should be completely abolished.

Drill for oil on the barrier reef. Drill for oil in Bass straight, fuck the whales. Use fracking technology to extract more resources. Open as many coal mines as we can. Give Christmas Island to Malaya or Indonesia as it is just a magnet for economic "refugees" and it is populated by Muslims completely dependent upon the Australian infidel taxpayer for their upkeep. The Mussies can then call it Ramadan Island. Make serious cuts in our $5 billion pa foreign aid budget. Build a nuclear reprocessing facility and a nuclear disposal site, preferably on barren, useless, and geologicaly stable aboriginal land, of which Australia has an over abundance. If they don't like it, take the dole of them and let them figure out that nothing is free. Start training nuclear engineers. If poverty stricken shitholes like Syria, Iraq, North Korea, Pakistan, and India can do it, so can we.

Get this country moving or the Chinese will take us over, one way or another.

If we don't build nuclear weapons, then at the very least, we must sack the entire Defence procurement department and replace the over paid incompetents with their tea ladies, who would possess a lot more common sense when it came to purchasing weapon systems which are not over priced and which work.

The Chinese outnumber us 56 to 1.

We are so outnumbered that we have to be like Israel.

The resident moron asks where is the money coming from.....well we didn't have much trouble raising
the billions of dollars for our fkn submarines, which we don't get til doomsday...
Oh and the billions of dollars for our 80 odd clapped out F35s which the USA didn't want....
Weve got plenty of money to throw around....and lets not forget the billions upon billions of dollars
we throw away in overseas "aid" to shit hole countries.....
Oh..and how much did it cost to buy into the China Infrastructure Bank....$638 million....and we get jack shit for it....
Meanwhile, all our state governments are selling off the farm to China to balance the books....
But I digress...….. :rofl
To discover those who rule over you, first discover those who you cannot criticize...Voltaire
Its coming...the rest of the world versus islam....or is it here already...

China nearly has its second aircraft carrier.
They are developing hypersonic missiles.
They have nuclear weapons.
China is building it's navy larger every day.
China has far more troops than us.
There is nothing stopping China from smuggling
whole armies inside ordinary freight ships -
a bit like a Trojan horse.

What we need is an arms reduction treaty in SEA.
It should include India as well.
We just can't sit back and watch while China turns
into a military superpower and do nothing.

It's up to our useless Govt. to do something to
ease the tensions in SEA.
We could get the Yanks to help us with negotiations -
we could threaten to have American nuclear missile bases on Australian soil
and some of the largest American military bases in the world
for conventional weapons right here.

We act like Neville Chamberlain.
We are appeasers to a country that is building up just like Hitler did.
China clearly is striving for an offensive military rather than defensive.
That's not acceptable in a world where we want peace and security.

Yeah I too have sort of hoped the US would build a permanent nuclear armed base up in the Northern Territory where they currently do conduct training etc

This would also protect their spy base at Pine Gap

Maybe we should offer to pay for the building of the base and contribute to it running cost!
