ABC viewers are calling for Q&A host Fran Kelly to be sacked after she failed to condemn a panellist for encouraging murder on the show last night.
In an extraordinary programme which featured five hardline feminists and no men on the panel, outspoken Egyptian-American writer Mona Eltahawy said that women should kill rapists.

Former ABC journalist Jess Hill backed her up before screenwriter Nayuka Gorrie said: 'I think violence is OK'.
Kelly made no attempt to denounce the shocking comments, instead meekly asking Ms Eltahawy if she were promoting violence.

The show, which featured lots of foul language that Kelly also left largely unchecked, caused outrage across the nation and sparked calls for ABC funding to be cut.

One female viewer said the ABC had 'got together a group of man-haters to promote violence against men'.
Dozens called for Kelly to step down, saying she was 'perfectly at ease with violence'.

Media analyst Julian Evans has complained about the show to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
He told Daily Mail Australia: 'Violence against women, children and men is abhorrent and should be condemned at every opportunity, not encouraged, discussed with glee or presented in a away that condones and incites the community.'

He also claimed the comments broke the NSW Crimes Act which outlaws inciting violence on the grounds of race, religion, or sexual orientation - but New South Wales police said no complaints had been made.

The ACMA said it had received over 20 complaints about the episode of Q&A.

I admit I didn't listen to it and I don't watch Q&A. It's too stacked and biased for my liking. I just kept clicking forward through the video but with half a dozen of them there was this Mona the only one talking?

ABC announces probe into feminist Q&A episode after audience complaints

The ABC will investigate whether Monday night's episode of Q&A breached editorial standards after receiving several audience complaints about the language and ideas expressed by the panel.
The entirely non-male panel featured high-profile feminists - Egyptian-American writer Mona Eltahawy, Indigenous screenwriter Nayuka Gorrie, journalist Jess Hill, business leader Hana Assafiri and anti-ageism campaigner Ashton Applewhite - ahead of this weekend's Broadside Festival, hosted by the Wheeler Centre.
ABC Managing Director David Anderson said the intention of the panel was to "present challenging ideas from high-profile feminists" but he acknowledged the program was "provocative in regard to the language used and some of the views presented".

"Q&A has always sought to tackle difficult issues and present challenging and thought-provoking content. However, I can understand why some viewers found elements of this episode confronting or offensive," Mr Anderson said in a statement on Thursday.
"We have received audience complaints about the program, are assessing the concerns raised and will investigate whether the program met the ABC’s editorial standards."
Minister for Communications Paul Fletcher said the ABC's decision to investigate the program, in which he said some panellists used "offensive language and called for or endorsed violence", was "appropriate".
One of the more controversial moments of the program came when an audience member asked when violence and aggression is an appropriate way to bring about change.

I won't bring up threads where I was ignored. Maybe? Nahhh!

OK I hear enough about politics on the news and online and anything political that interests me I delve into it deeper online and read political opinions from both sides at various sites because I think that gives me a fairer platform from which to form my own opinions, rather than the media which I generally find biased.

So when I do watch tv I prefer to watch something mindless where I don't have to pay too much attention. I DL shows we don't get here, DL movies if I think I am in the right frame of mind to watch and on free to air I am watching The Block. No more Masterchef now that Garry, Matt and George have gone and I occasionally watch MKR but not every season because I get bored with it periodically.
