More than 11,000 scientists around the world have signed a scientific paper declaring a climate emergency, backing protesters across the world demanding action.
Key points:

The scientists, from 153 countries, have backed governments across the world that made similar declarations
The group of scientists say there needs to be greater emphasis on human activities that can change the climate such as fertility rate, air travel and meat production

The paper, published in the journal BioScience, declares the climate crisis "has arrived" and is "accelerating faster than most scientists expect".
"Scientists have a moral obligation to clearly warn humanity of any catastrophic threat," the paper said.
The UK, Scotland and Ireland are among the countries that have declared a "climate change emergency", along with more than 1,000 subnational jurisdictions, including many in Australia, such as the ACT, the City of Sydney and the City of Melbourne.
Last month, the Federal Government voted down an attempt to declare a climate emergency across the country, with the Morrison Government's Emissions Reduction Minister, Angus Taylor, labelling it a "symbolic" gesture.
More than 400,000 Australians have signed a petition, now presented to Parliament, urging the Government to make the call

Nom, you're preaching to the converted. I know many scientists and I defer to their knowledge on scientific matters. They have spent decades often acquiring the knowledge to undertake their craft. I believe they know what they are talking about, unlike some. The ignorant often believe they know more than the knowledgeable, unfortunately. We have fools who proclaim that "Climate change is a Chinese conspiracy". Really? If so, why are the Chinese polluting their country and the world so much?

The easiest way to gauge what climate change alarmists really believe is to watch their own behavior.

The Paris climate accord was hailed as a momentous step toward halting the Earth's tendency to heat up like a cheeseburger on a backyard grill.

But if that's what the signees to the agreement really believe, why did they allow China -- the world's greatest spewer of CO2 -- to do nothing for 15 years while demanding that the U.S. cut its CO2 emissions by 28 percent and pay $3 billion to a U.N. climate fund? No, wait ... actually it's even more ridiculous than that: China has been allowed to continue building coal-fired generating plants at home and abroad.

Now if climate change/global warming/whatever they're calling it this week were actually the "climate emergency" these scientists claim it is, wouldn't the other nations that inked the Paris climate accord have banded together and issued a stern condemnation of China's irresponsible push toward global destruction? Wouldn't Greta have sailed to the shores of China to launch her extinction-avoiding protest?

Nahhh ... Grim Greta and friends are too busy wagging their collective finger at Trump for calling B.S. on their little extortion game. See, Trump pulled the rug out from under them by declaring that not only was the U.S. withdrawing from the agreement, but that he had no intention of forwarding the remaining $2 billion to the U.N. (Obama paid the first $1 billion).

Again, watch the behavior of the climate alarmists. Aside from Greta, have any of them stopped taking airplanes to their climate conferences? In fact, why do they hold international climate conferences at all? C'mon, it's a climate emergency -- why wouldn't they just teleconference from their home countries and heroically reduce CO2 emissions by that much more?

Because ... well, y'know, junkets are more fun than staying home. Plus, there's less chance of arm-twisting and guilt-tripping major Western industrial powers into sending billions of dollars to the U.N. -- or voluntarily gagging their own economies by reducing their energy development and usage.

Gosh, it's almost as if climate change is really all about money and power, isn't it?
