I think if the economy weakens Hillary will beat Trump.....but no other Democrat candidate will....

Hell will freeze over before Hillary can beat Trump imo but she isn't even a candidate unless she manages to storm in at the eleventh hour and I am not sure if she can do that.

When one realises that Hillary did actually beat Trump in the popular election to the tune of nearly 3 million more votes, your idea that she couldn't repeat that is rather strange Black Orchid. What people always forget is that Trump lost the popular election but won the Electoral College election.

As for Hillary running, I doubt it. She is simply the bogeywoman that the Republicans and the Trumpites like to trot out to scare their base with. As far as I am aware, she has no intention of running in this election. She is rather old, at 73, which would tell against her. She can still nominate for the first primary though, which she could win.

Trump is on the nose in the US. He has been boo'ed twice now. Once at the World Series game and once at the UFC championship. He hasn't taken either well by most accounts.

What you seem to forget is that the US uses the Electoral College system and always has so deal with it. Joe Biden is turning 77, Elizabeth Warren is 70 and Donald Trump is 73 so Hillary's age is irrelevant.

The Democrats need someone fresh and new. Someone the people will relate to and maybe even trust. It's just a pity that old Hills is trying to strike Democrat hopefuls down from the sideline but that is her style. More than anything they need to concentrate on good policy that will benefit the American people and try to win an election on merit rather than by default.

Even Pelosi is trying to pull the main candidates unrealistic and ridiculous socialist dreams into line.

I don't forget anything like that at all, Black Orchid. You keep overlooking who was the most popular candidate in 2016 - Hillary Clinton. She won nearly 3 million more votes than Donald Trump. She failed to win the Electoral College vote though so didn't end up el Presidente'. I suspect she would have been a better el Presidente' though, than Trump, no matter what you and he and his supporters might claim.

The age of candidates for the office of el Presidente' has always been rather older compared to the office of PM in the UK or Downunder or most of the Commonwealth. Age is a problem for candidates. Hillary proved she wasn't able to keep up with the pressures of the campaign last time and she was four years younger then. Reagan wasn't able to cope with the office of el Presidente' - towards the end of his second term he was spending a large proportion of each day "napping". Trump seems to spend a large proportion of his time on the golf course(s). Indeed he is reported remarking on how much time he has to spend on being el Presidente'. Does this make any of them suitable for the office? I don't think so. Perhaps along with term limits they need age limits?

In part I agree but that is rather different compared to running, now isn't it, Black Orchid? She is acting like she is - an elder stateswoman, helping to whinnow the girls/boys from the women/men.

Which suggests what about Pelosi? There is a lot of bullshit at the moment on both sides of the aisle. Trump reckons he is innocent of any wrong doing. The Democrats think they can more further Left than they are. There needs to be understanding that it is the centre which wins elections, not the extremes.

Crowds always boo politicians at sporting events -- it's an American thing.

But have you seen the size of the crowds that Trump draws wherever he holds a rally? They fill arenas and leave thousands waiting outside the door.

Hillary could never attract that many on her best day. And nowadays her best days are far behind her.

Lately she's gone flaky, accusing fellow Democrat Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian asset, along with 2016 Green Party candidate Jill Stein, and of course Trump as well. That led to this commentary in Rolling Stone, which isn't exactly a Trump fanzine:
