British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said the UK and EU have agreed to a "great new deal" on Brexit and urged Parliament to approve it this week.

Mr Johnson posted on Twitter: "We've got a great new deal that takes back control — now Parliament should get Brexit done on Saturday so we can move on to other priorities like the cost of living, the NHS, violent crime and our environment."

Mr Johnson told reporters in Brussels he thinks the agreement "represents a very good deal both for the EU and the UK".

"I think it is a reasonable, fair outcome and reflects the large amount of work undertaken by both sides."

"For us in the UK it means that we can deliver a real Brexit that achieves our objectives, and it means that the UK leaves whole and entire October 31st."

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said the deal was "a fair, balanced agreement".

"It is testament to our commitment to finding solutions," he said during a joint press conference with Mr Johnson.

"It provides certainty where Brexit creates uncertainty."

"Where there is a will, there is a deal — we have one! It's a fair and balanced agreement for the EU and the UK and it is testament to our commitment to find solutions," Mr Juncker said on Twitter.

Democracy anybody, what a joke.

From the start this was going to be a massive failure. They decided to hold a referendum to placate the Brexit people believing the skewed polls were right. Right up till they finished counting the results and they LOST.

Then the rats all left the sinking ship and a new leader was elected, not from all those very good candidates but from whomever was willing to take the job.

And now we are here, with a small minority who want a new referendum. Obviously in the belief that if you keep asking the same question eventually you get the answer you want. Some who want an election, as long as they don’t have to deliver the undeliverable. Some who refuse to leave and those who want to leave no matter what.

This deal will never get through IMO. I have been wrong before but nothing has changed in UK government except that should they be able to stall for another six months they can have an election and start it all over again.

I think the arrogance of the UK to assume that they will vote it down so the EU has to extend the deadline is in serious jeopardy here. The EU has already stated they will not extend just to please the whims of the UK parliament. They need very good reason, and simply saying they don’t agree is not one of them.

The UK appears to be destine to exit the EU without a deal. I wonder how many of those politicians have thrown their careers down the toilet to please their egos???
