Australia continues to dig to Area 51:

Wow thats one hell of a hole in the ground, pity they couldnt fill it with water during flooding period when the mining is finished it would make a great dam

Where is it located
Kalgoorlie.
It's called the "Super Pit". The intention is to make it the world's largest pit. I suspect it will fill with water itself once they finish with it.

What did they do with all of the dirt? That would make a great reservoir when they are through digging for gold. Deeper reservoirs are less exposed to evaporation than shallow reservoirs.

If you look up "super pit, kalgoorlie" and look at the air photo option in Google Maps you'll see what they did with all the earth...

Why didn't you just answer a simple question with a simple answer?

I am not here to do your research for you, Neferti. That was a simple answer it told Tex where to find the information he is seeking.

Friday night lights!

Texas high school football. It's the opening act and the closing act for the band at halftime.

Yes. They still haven’t learned the 3rd act with his solo.

I just got back home. I’ve been working out of town for 2 weeks. I got to visit my granddaughter 3 different times as I passed through Kansas. She learned to crawl this week.

It must be nice catching up with the family. Babies grow up so fast as you well know!

Long weekend here and I should have thought about going away for the weekend. Then again ... too many people with the same idea.

My youngest got to play his solo for the first time Friday and my oldest got to come down with his family to see it. They drove back to Kansas today.
