https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2018/1 ... 9FctIGI068More nations are joining the exodus from the United Nations’ (UN) controversial compact on mass migration, with legal experts now standing up to raise concerns about the drafting of the document and what legal implications signing it might have for countries party to the pact.
President Donald Trump was the first to pull out of the UN pact on migration in December 2017, a move which prompted howls of disapproval from both the mainstream media and globalist leaders.
Yet several nations from all over the world have outright withdrawn from the compact since initially ratifying it in July, or have signalled their intent to do so, as states gain confidence in opposing fashionable but dangerous deals that are not in their own interests.
In comments that cut across the grain of the usual business and practice of the United Nations, President Trump said at the body’s New York headquarters in September: “Migration should not be governed by an international body unaccountable to our own citizens.
“Ultimately, the only long-term solution to the migration crisis is to help people build more hopeful futures in their home countries. Make their countries great again.”
Australia, Israel, and Poland are among the latest to pull out, all citing national interest reasons.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morris remarked Wednesday that the agreement is “inconsistent” with his nation’s best interest, and that the document “fails to adequately distinguish between people who enter Australia illegally and those who come to Australia the right way”, noting the frequent observation that the paper does not differentiate between legal and illegal migration.
Poland Pulls Out: UN Migration Pact ‘Will Make Migrant Crisis Worse’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also alluded to the document’s ambiguity on illegal migrants, saying Tuesday that: “We are committed to guarding our borders against illegal migrants. This is what we have done, and this is what we will continue to do,” reports the Jerusalem Post.
Switzerland is now postponing a decision on signing the deal, and the nation’s parliament will debate the issue in the coming weeks.
These announcements followed by several days other similar messages from European nations Poland and Austria, who in turn stated their opposition to the document which both emphasises the “inevitable, necessary, and desirable” nature of massive movements of people, and calls on signatories to “prevent” campaigning against mass migration in “the context of electoral campaigns”.
Czech Republic Confirms it Will Withdraw from UN Migrant Pact
The Czech government has decided the country will stay out of a United Nations pact promoting an international approach to safe and orderly migration.
Poland’s Interior Minister Joachim Brudzinski said in October that: “the draft of the agreement does not contain adequately strong guarantees of [nations’] sovereign right to decide who comes into their territory and [nor does it] distinguish legal and illegal migration”.
“We want Poles to be safe in their country.”
Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and Croatia (whose President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is pictured with President Trump above) have also signalled alarm pulled out.
Half of Austrians Support Government Move to Opt Out of UN Migrant Pact
A new survey has revealed that nearly half of Austrians support the government's move to opt out of the UN migration pact.
The plan has been repeatedly defended in the mainstream media and in the halls of government with claims that the articles set out in the document are not legally binding, however expert legal opinion suggests that while the document is drafted as “non-binding”, it is written in a way that creates a legal framework.
This, Belgian law professor Pierre d’Argent argues, will act like other UN compacts that have proceeded it will be used by lawyers to interpret the meaning of laws.
He said: “…lawyers use this pact as a reference tool to try to guide them… This has already occurred in international or national jurisdictions to refer to instruments that are not legally binding.”
German law professor Matthias Herdegen came to a similar conclusion, as Breitbart London reported. Remarking that the UN compact occupied a “legal grey area”, it “gives the impression of [state] liability” and would raise the expectations of potential migrants in the third world, having the impact of potentially rising migration levels even if no laws actually changed.

Re: Trump leads the World
For decades, western countries have been the victims of ever increasing waves of third world immigration, both legal and illegal. Some of those immigrant groups are noted for their high levels of welfare dependency, serious criminal behaviour, and even terrorism. The result of this has been to make once safe western countries considerably less safer and considerably less prosperous.
The negative affects of immigration were ignored by the Tammany Hall type politicians for decades, as the immigrants were considered a new source of votes. Some western parties became so enamoured of foreign immigrant votes that they actively campaigned against the primacy of their own people's superior cultural values in their own countries. Worse, some of their most prominent luminaries never lost any opportunity to sneer at their own people and find common cause with any ethnic group which attacked the Europeans superior dominant culture.
But sooner or later, the indigenous white populations of European countries would get so alarmed at the rate of immigration and it's obvious negative consequences, that they would begin to seek out politicians who were more concerned with protecting their own people and their own culture than destroying their own country by looking for foreign votes.
So we are now witnessing the revolt of the white race. Australia's One Nation party, once a very small party is now becoming a major force with most of her electoral support coming from the former supporters of the Labor Party. In the UK, we see the rather incredible spectacle of Labor politicians preventing the exit of Britain from the EU, a policy overwhelmingly endorsed by their own electors within their own constituencies. No wonder Britain's Labor Party fears the next election.
In the USA, the phenomenon of Trump, a mega rich billionaire who is more attuned to the concerns of his own people than the Tweedledum/Treedledee politicians of both the Left and the Right, will probably win the next Presidential election in a landslide.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/ ... -exemptionApple is boosting its commitment to the American workforce, part of a push to invest hundreds of billions into the U.S. economy.
In a major announcement on Monday, Apple said it will build its redesigned Mac Pro in Austin, Texas.
The move comes three days after U.S. trade officials approved exemptions that allow Apple to import key Mac Pro parts from China without them being subject to tariffs.
“The Mac Pro is Apple’s most powerful computer ever and we’re proud to be building it in Austin,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement. “We thank the administration for their support enabling this opportunity.”

The Wall Street Journal reported in June that Apple was moving Mac Pro production to China, but the tech giant said Monday that the high-powered computer would continue to be made in the Austin facility that has produced Mac Pros since 2013. One month after the Journal report, President Trump tweeted that the U.S. would not grant Apple tariff exemptions, saying, “Make [Mac Pros] in the USA, no Tariffs!”

Apple will not be given Tariff waiver, or relief, for Mac Pro parts that are made in China. Make them in the USA, no Tariffs!
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said Friday it would grant tariff exemptions for partially assembled main circuit boards and graphics cards, which contain expensive chips from Intel, Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices. Apple is using Intel’s Xeon processor in the new computer.
"We believe deeply in the power of American innovation." - Apple CEO Tim Cook
Apple rolled out the redesigned Mac Pro at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, and it is expected to go on sale this fall. Production in Austin will begin soon, the company said.
“We believe deeply in the power of American innovation,” Cook continued. “That’s why every Apple product is designed and engineered in the US, and made up of parts from 36 states, supporting 450,000 jobs with US suppliers, and we’re going to continue growing here.”
Prices for the new Mac Pro start at $5,999. The computers tend to be used for music and video production.
The announcement is more good news for Austin, which has the most Apple employees of any U.S. location outside its headquarters in Cupertino, California – 6,200 as of December 2018. The company said in December it is spending $1 billion on a new North Austin campus for 5,000 more employees, with the capacity to expand to 15,000 workers.

APPLE SCORE MAJOR VICTORY IN US-CHINA TRADE BATTLE
“More than a dozen” U.S. companies in eight states -- Arizona, Maine, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Vermont -- will supply Mac Pro components, according to Apple, and the value of U.S.-made parts is jumping 2.5 times compared to previous models.
At a dinner in August, Cook made a “very compelling argument” that U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports are hurting American companies like Apple, but not its South Korean competitor Samsung, Trump said at the time.
A new round of tariffs will go into effect Oct. 15, and more tariffs will hit Dec. 15.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/24/hyundai ... nture.htmlThe Hyundai Motor Group and Aptiv are set to establish a $4 billion autonomous driving joint venture in which the firms will each have a 50% stake.
In an announcement Monday, the companies said the joint venture, which will have headquarters in Boston, would focus on advancing the “design, development and commercialization of SAE Level 4 and 5 autonomous technologies.”
Five “levels” of driving automation have been defined by SAE International, a global association of engineers and technical experts. At Level 4, a vehicle can drive itself under limited conditions and “will not operate unless all required conditions are met.” At Level 5, a vehicle’s automated driving features can drive it under all conditions.
The joint venture will start to test fully driverless systems next year, the companies said. A “production ready autonomous driving platform” that can be used by fleet operators, robotaxi providers and autos manufacturers is due to be available by 2022, they added.
Under the agreement, Aptiv will contribute its autonomous driving technology and intellectual property. Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors and Hyundai Mobis will together contribute $1.6 billion in cash and $400 million in research and development resources, vehicle engineering services and access to intellectual property.
The deal between the two companies is subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions. It is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020.
Egil Juliussen, director of research and principal analyst for automotive technology at IHS Markit, explained to CNBC via email that the joint venture was significant for both Aptiv and Hyundai but was one of many taking place.
“There are at least 10 important AV (autonomous vehicle) collaborations between start-up AV software companies, high-tech companies, auto manufacturers and suppliers,” he said.
“These collaborations are needed because the software development is difficult and testing is extensive, with AI expertise being a crucial technology for success – the auto industry does not have the needed know-how.”

https://www.dallasnews.com/business/201 ... -600-jobs/Commercial truck maker Navistar will build a new $250 million manufacturing facility in Texas as part of the Illinois-based company's four-year plan to grow its market share.
The investment, which is contingent on incentive approvals, will create about 600 new jobs in the San Antonio area, the company said Thursday. The state is providing a $2.27 million grant to Navistar from its Texas Enterprise Fund.
Navistar's investment means more than $1 billion in new projects have been announced in recent weeks for the fast-growing San Antonio region. Earlier this week, Toyota said it will spend $391 million on technology upgrades at its Tundra and Tacoma truck plant in San Antonio to go along with a new $400 million factory being built by one of its suppliers in nearby Cibolo.
"Over the last five years, Navistar has made significant investments to improve our position in the market," Navistar CEO Troy Clarke said in a statement. "This investment will ... improve quality, lower costs and provide capacity to support anticipated industry growth."
The new plant will produce a variety of heavy-duty vehicles to support Navistar's existing truck assembly plants in Springfield, Ohio, and Escobedo, Mexico, the company said. Navistar also recently announced plans to invest $125 million in its Huntsville, Ala., engine plant to build next-generation powertrains.
The Texas site is on Interstate 35's transportation corridor, which links Navistar's southern U.S. and Mexico supply bases. Commercial real estate firm JLL worked with Navistar to find the site. The company said the location will help reduce costs and improve logistics.
Bexar County commissioner Nelson Wolff said Navistar's decision validates the region's role in advanced manufacturing.
"The county has, for many years, been touting the strength of our Texas-Mexico region as a platform for vehicle production," Wolff said in a statement. "Navistar's decision ... is just the latest affirmation that our community is uniquely situated to host world-class companies in advanced manufacturing industries."
Gov. Greg Abbott said the state's efforts to create a diverse and skilled manufacturing workforce are paying off. "The Lone Star State is the new frontier in innovation," he said.
Navistar plans to break ground later this year and expects to begin production in two years.
As part of an investor presentation Thursday, Navistar said it expects to produce up to 365,000 trucks and buses this year. It estimates its revenue will be between $10 billion and $10.5 billion.
City and county leaders will vote in October and November on incentives for the plant, according to the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/02/wto-rul ... spute.html............. The World Trade Organization (WTO) has backed a U.S. request to impose tariffs on $7.5 billion of European goods, potentially sparking a new trade war across the Atlantic.
Arbitrators from the WTO have granted President Donald Trump’s administration the right to levy billions against imports of European goods for what they say are illegal subsidies granted to planemaker Airbus by the European governments of Germany, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom. ...........
