WELL...who woulda thought....Costello..(you know, that muppet that sold our gold for threepence an ounce
when he was Treasurer) has come out and admitted that Australia as probably had "hidden recessions"
The recession word once again raises its ugly head....twelve months ago it was never heard of...not mentioned
by anyone....nowadays its all we hear....
Will we have a recession....is the US going to have a recession...blah blah blah....
Strangely enough the link points out that Chinas worst figures for 27 years are occurring at the moment......
How long have we lasted "without a recession"....28 years....funny that...
Australias economy has been propped up by Chinas growth all this time....and its about to come crashing down...
Interest rates cuts by the other muppet wont do Australia any good....the whole joint is on the skids...…
How much did we give the Chinese Infrastructure Bank....$628 million I believe....
Everything was great whilst China was buying our rocks...now...they dont want them.....they wont even
take our trash...…
AND Morrison donates $150million to the yank space race whilst our farmers eat dirt and neck themselves.....
No-one has pointed me to anything positive for a while, so I guess my rant is justified.....
AND another rate cut by Lowe is anticipated next week.....
Wont help.....

SO Morrison and Freakenberg on the news last nite tell us that they would be happy for the Aussie dollar to drop markedly
.....wtf....at our expense....our exports will be worth more....but at our expense....
They are prepared to applaud the bottom line for export value going up but don't give a stuff about
we, the people.....
I can envisage the Aussie dollar going down to 50c in the not too distant future.....
AND the government will applaud this, as it balances the books for them.....
The Australian government has squandered our "riches" of the past and we have nothing to show for it...
We have a bridge and a rock....that's all we've got....
Our state and federal governments are incompetent....
I would imagine if Morrison and his cronies were asked for their opinions on the drought stricken
areas of Australia, they would just shrug their shoulders and make some lame comment like...
"We cant control the weather...."
Yes but what are you doing about providing assistance to drought stricken areas by using some foresight..
Being a visionary and having foresight is not a politicians strong suite...
We have the most barren and dry country on the planet, and yet we are surrounded by water.....
All they are interested in is staying in power...and conning the voters to do so....
State and federal governments in Australia have been selling the people a dump for decades....
AND now theyre looking at the two trillion dollar super industry...how can we raid it...
Well, the Qld government have already done that with Qsuper…
State and federal governments in Australia are a fkn disgrace.....AND have been for years....
That's my rant for the day... :rofl

I bought my first house in the 70s...then another here and there...for one reason or another.....
I was always given a written contract for a fixed rate mortgage.
The amount of the mortgage was based on my capacity to pay one quarter of my wages as a mortgage
payment and still have enough to live on. This was the norm. at the time.
Fast forward and what do we have now....
Interest rates have been going up and down for decades....down now because the world is rooted....
Someone explain to me how anyone can sign a written legally binding contract where the interest
rate is simply what it happens to be from time to time for a period of forty years...
Imagine buying a car, or a motor cycle, or a jetski, a tractor, a campervan, a wedding ring for your
bride to be …...only to be told that your payments will go up or down, depending on what the interest
rate is from month to month...or year to year...
Imagine nowadays going into a bank and signing up for a mortgage for a forty year period, with
a fixed rate for say the first 3/5 years....
What happens then when the rates start going up.....
Forgive me for being old fashioned...but how is this contract payable by the borrower, if in years
to come the interest rate goes up from say 4% today to say 10% in 5 years time....
Does everyone race in and refinance.....and at what rate....10%....ffs...….
What happened to fixed mortgage payments based on your fixed income....
The current variable rate offered by Banks is just a con......absolute madness.....
AND everyone accepts it as normal......ludicrous..... :du :du :du

And I heard on the news last night that Australia is second in the world for deforestation. Up to the equivalent of 60 football ovals per week in Queensland alone. :sad

"Morrison rams cash ban through lower House; Senate inquiry is next fight—fire off your submission!

The Morrison government showed its contempt for democracy and parliamentary procedure by ramming its totalitarian cash ban bill through the House of Representatives yesterday, without waiting for the outcome of the Senate inquiry into the bill.
Passing the House is just the first step, however. The real fight was always going to be in the Senate, which the Currency (Restrictions on the Use of Cash) Bill 2019 must pass before it becomes law.
And while the government doesn’t like it, before it is debated in the Senate the bill will be scrutinised by the Senate Economics Legislation Committee inquiry that is taking submissions until 15 November.
The next stage of the fight against this law is to flood that inquiry with submissions that forcefully object to this assault on our freedom to use cash and not have to use banks; on our right to privacy and not to have banks and the government “monitor and measure” all of our financial activities; and to being trapped in banks so we can’t escape extreme policies like negative interest rates and “bail-in”.
Everyone opposed to this law MUST make a submission. It doesn’t matter how long or short it is, how sophisticated or blunt and to the point, we all must register our forceful objection so the inquiry is inundated with submissions and the Senators get the clear message that they must conduct a proper inquiry, whether the government wants it or not.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE SUBMISSIONS TO TREASURY IN AUGUST! Do not assume if you made a submission then that you’ve already done it. This is a different inquiry, so you need to make another one. If you’d like you can simply re-use your August submission, and submit it to this Senate inquiry.
The quickest way to make a submission is to send an email to economics.sen@aph.gov.au, or go to https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Bu ... shBill2019 and follow the upload procedure.
Either way, make your voiced heard! And do it today.
Yesterday’s short debate in Parliament proved two things:
The government doesn’t want scrutiny, because the CEC/Citizens Party, John Adams and Martin North, Melissa Harrison and others have already DESTROYED the government’s excuses for this law, namely eliminating the black economy and tax evasion, and proved it is about the IMF’s agenda of trapping us in banks so we can’t escape negative interest rates. The politicians who spoke against the law used our information about negative interest rates and the black economy to justify their opposition.
Even more importantly, engaging with MPs works! All of the emails and phone calls people have made to their MPs are getting the message through. We know there are backbenchers in the Coalition who are speaking out behind the scenes, but we also saw that everyone who spoke on the bill yesterday from the opposition and cross benches emphasised the messages of opposition they received from their constituents. For instance, Andrew Wilkie said: “I’ll start by acknowledging that I’ve been approached by quite a lot of people in the community—not just constituents but people from right around Australia—who have expressed a broad range of concerns with the Currency (Restrictions on the Use of Cash) Bill 2019, so much so that I won’t be supporting it. The sorts of concerns that have been raised by constituents include everything from concern that it’s designed to push people into the clutches of the banks so that they have to engage in the banking system, to concern that it’s an attack on people’s fundamental right to use cash. An interesting line of argument, which I think has some merit, is: if Australia does eventually reach negative interest rates, cash will assume new importance but this bill will diminish the ability of people to use cash.”
So fire off your submission today! "

Oh, dearie, dearie, me. ScoMo has acted legally. The House of Reps is not subordinate to the Senate and it's inquiries. Indeed, the Senate conducting "inquiries" is a relatively recent development in the history of that House. While ScoMo and the Tories might be a bunch of Muppets, they haven't acted either illegally or even immorally. Yet again we see the gross ignorance about how the Australian Parliament was set up and how it acts being displayed.
