But Brian, that makes no sense. Boris is calling for an election and the Remainer politicians are blocking it. According to Nigel Farage, the real issue emerging from this mess is democracy. Whether those elected to implement the policies of the majority of the electorate can be trusted to carry out the people's will? Farage maintains that there are now Remainers jumping ship to the Brexiteers because they are seeing that the real issue now is not to remain or leave, but democracy itself. Even many remainers are incensed at the behaviour of their own politicians who are frustrating the will of the majority.
I think Farage is full of it, Bogan. He and Johnson and all the leavers lied during the referendum campaign.

What is at stake is not what the minority of voters (yes, it was a minority of voters who took part in the referendum in the UK) want or don't want. The problem is that the UK has no formal Constitution. The remainers aren't blocking an election. The leavers aren't blocking an election. What is blocking an election is an inability to direct the country which a written, formal, Constitution imparts.
If three years after the Sodomite Marriage Referendum, conservative politicians in Australia were doing whatever to block the implementation of the bill, one would presume that the Brian Ross clones would be hopping around in red faced apoplexy? Even I, who resolutely opposed this proposal, would have to agree that politicians have no right whatsoever to frustrate the majority of the electorate's clear will. No mater how ill informed or wrong that may be.
What referendum? Australia has never held a referendum on the issue of Marriage Equality, Bogan and your attempt to claim it has simply shows how ignorant you are of reality. It must however upset you dreadfully to think that it has held a postal opinion poll on the issue and the majority of Australians decided it was a good idea to extend full rights to all Australians, even those who have proclaimed themselves as Gay.
Brian Ross and Bogan marching shoulder to shoulder down George Street to protect democracy. THAT would be a sight to see.
Yes, it would. It would indeed. Problem is, you'd be screaming the opposite of what I'd be saying...

Three years after winning the Brexit vote, the majority of British parliamentarians have done everything possible to frustrate the clear wishes of the majority of people in the UK to leave.

Call it a postal vote or a referenda, a clear majority of voters in Australia agreed with the concept of sodomite marriage. Even though I disagree with the majority on that subject, I would be incensed if after three years, a majority of parliamentarians within the Australian parliament was doing whatever it could to frustrate the clear wishes of the Australian electorate. The real issue would then become democracy itself.

Who has suggested that Boris has committed "high treason", Cods? Hitler didn't commit any German crimes. Indeed, the Nazis were careful to change the laws to allow them to murder 10 million "undesirables". Boris has committed a crime, if he has committed it of Malfeasance - in other words "corruption". That is what he is being investigated for.

What I was doing was using an extreme example to show how empty your words are, Cods.

Hitler killed millions. Boris apparently committed a crime of Malfeasance. To you, Boris's crime(s) should be ignored because they are in the past. Well, I asked if we should forget what Hitler and his many minions did, 'cause they are in the past.

Personally, I think Boris is responsible for his own acts, legal and illegal and if he committed an illegal one, he deserves to be investigated, charged, tried and condemned for it.

You, 'cause you appear to like Boris for some unfathomable reason, believe he should just be told he's been a naughty boy, made to stand in the corner for an hour and then let off.

One of Boris Johnson's closest allies has slammed Julia Gillard's comments casting doubt on the likelihood of the UK and Australia striking a free trade deal immediately after Brexit.

Nigel Adams, the UK's sports minister and close friend to Prime Minister Boris Johnson told The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age Ms Gillard's views were irrelevant to ordinary Britons.

"Quite the intervention?" Adams wrote on Twitter in response to the Herald's report.

"Her views will have zero impact on the views of ordinary Britons but her comments will give metropolitan Remoaners something to retweet," he said.

On Friday Gillard used a television appearance on the BBC's Politics Live program to warn Britons against expecting any "economic bonanza" from any trade deal with Australia. And she said she felt a responsibility to remind the UK, that in her experience, trade deals take years to negotiate, comments which undermine the UK and Australian governments which have both said they hope to strike a deal within months, if not weeks of Brexit.

Jumping on the Turnbull/Rudd 'still trying to be relevant' bandwagon.

that was the case with different governments.
With Boris Johnson, Scott Morrison and Donald Trump, it will be vastly different
