Thanks Gordon.

From our trips out West, local own and drive Toyotas. Visitors drive 'whatevers'
'Footy clubs' and Schools (if you live in a big town) use Toyota Coasters.

If you are in a remote area and are in a Toyota, there are 2 realities.
1/ You will drive back and have an amazing trip.
2/ If you break down, the local town that is only 4 hours away will have a toyota expert.

If you drive a whatever, cases 1/ and 2/ don't apply.

I'd like the VW to look cool in to cruise up the coast,

I agree with you, but I reckon you'd start to see a Hyuandi or 2 outback as well.

Their wagons spring leaf suspension takes more load.
the 4 litre 6 is better for towing.
It's more a work vehicle than the commodore

I had FoulCoons for years. I honestly reckon from EA onwards, total crap. (I had a lovely XF)
I had a newish model for a few days recently, just a horrible car!

Anyway, if you had a Hyundai van with less than 50000 on it, you'd not have a hint of trouble.

They're good cars, and Kia. My neigbours son bought a 4 years old Kia SUV. A year after it ran out of warranty it did a head gasket. They said it was so rare they fixed it for free. Good cars AND good company.

That is excellent

We often buy equipment at work on the basis of the warranty.
And kudos for you to speak of outstanding customer service.
They are certainly the companies I will buy from.

Kias and hyundais have a very good reputation, They are same same company
