Political debates in English instead of Mandarin might be a good idea too.
Interesting. Why? Afraid they'll say something you don't like, Black Orchid?

English the Australian language however there are no rules/laws which require that it be used. Something the Government of the day has not been adverse to take advantage of with the feared "Dictation Test" once being conducted in Gaelic...

Besieged Liberal MP Gladys Liu did not disclose her membership of organisations linked to the Chinese Government's foreign interference operations when she ran for preselection for the federal seat she now holds.

Key points:
Gladys Liu did not declare links to Chinese Government-affiliated organisations on her preselection forms
Ms Liu has come under siege over her links to a secretive Chinese influence network
Prime Minister Scott Morrison backs Liberal MP Gladys Liu to remain in Parliament
The ABC has obtained the form Ms Liu submitted during the preselection process for the seat of Chisholm, which she won for the Liberal Party at the last federal election.

All preselection candidates are obliged to fill in a section titled General and Community Activities, where they are supposed to list all organisations of which they are or have been a member or active supporter.

Ms Liu listed 17 different organisations, including the Box Hill Chess Club, the Australian Dancing Society and the Rotary Club of Melbourne. She also made reference to having been an honorary president or adviser to "many community organisations".

She did not, however, declare her council membership of two chapters of an organisation called the China Overseas Exchange Association, which the ABC this week reported were part of the Chinese Government's efforts to spread influence overseas.

The ABC has previously reported that Ms Liu was an honorary chair of two other organisations linked to the Chinese Government's United Front Work propaganda and foreign influence activities — the World Trade United Foundation and the United Chinese Commerce Association of Australia.

In her application for endorsement, Ms Liu did not declare her membership of these two organisations either.

Mr Morrison is correct in rejecting equivalence with the case of former Labor senator Sam Dastyari.

Mr Dastyari used Chinese donor funds to pay his legal and travel expenses and is on video backing Beijing’s official policy on activities in the China Sea, despite it clashing with ALP policy.

Labor today is suggesting Ms Liu must stand down just as Mr Dastyari had to quit the Senate. But that doesn’t make sense as the circumstances of the two cases in no way match.

The onus for explanation on Ms Liu is singular.

Funny, you appear to have missed this bit, Black Orchid:
Gladys Liu has much to explain and no huffing and puffing about “smears” by the Government will remove that obligation.

The fate of the Liberal MP rests on whether her harvesting of Chinese community votes for the May 18 election intersected with the ambitions of groups she has been linked to.

Was she an innocent using these groups to get elected to the seat of Chisholm? Or was she aware of the noxious intentions of some of these groups but ignored or even abetted them?

The Government’s “Our Glad” campaign is based on the accusation that any questioning of her is mere smear and race based.

But the questioning of the newly elected, Hong Kong-born MP for the Victorian seat of Chisholm by Labor is, in its essence, legitimate.
[...]
It is understood that in February last year ASIO advised Mr Turnbull not to attend a Chinese New Year meet-and-greet organised by Ms Liu because of certain figures from the Chinese community who would be attending it.

There was concerns about the Prime Minister being compromised.

So today Gladys Liu is a victim of slurs, but 20 months ago she was depicted as mixing with undesirables.

She has not helped her case by, in a Sky interview Wednesday evening, being unable to say whether or not she was a member of a group linked to Beijing propaganda operations despite being on its books for 12 years.

It was a “clumsy” interview response by her, Mr Morrison said, excusing the new chum MP on the grounds of inexperience.

Others might find it difficult to believe that more than a decade of membership of any organisation would be difficult to forget.

But it was the security concerns of February, 2018 which should be addressed, and Labor is right to do so.
The Tories are hiding behind a curtain of "Racism!". Tsk, tsk. Ms. Liu has a lot to explain. If she has done nothing wrong, it is up to her to prove it.

I haven't missed anything. I have already said several times that she should be stood down. So should her ALP opponent.

You failed to quote the relevant sections, Black Orchid. You may say she must go but ScoMo seems to think her murky links with the PRC are A-OK.

Is this the sort of Chinese Government sympathiser person we want in parliament?

No way José in my opinion

Gladys Liu's Liberal Party branch pushed an unusual motion within the Liberal Party to relax foreign investment laws prior to her becoming a federal MP.

Key points:
Gladys Liu was involved in a motion calling to ease foreign investment laws relating to agricultural land and agribusinesses
The motion also said attitudes toward foreign investment were fuelled by xenophobia
It was moved at a state Liberal Party conference in 2017, prior to Ms Liu becoming a Federal MP
At the 2017 Victorian Liberal Party conference, the party's Eastern Multicultural Branch, of which Ms Liu was the president, proposed a motion that would make foreign investment in agribusiness and agricultural land easier without approval by the Foreign Investment Review Board.
