I am still not entirely sure how this will change things much. I was always of the understanding that any transaction of $10,000 or more was reported to the ATO anyway.

The other point is that how can you take all of your money out of the bank when they have a daily limit on how much you can draw out? If you had quite a lot of money with a bank it could take weeks and weeks to draw it down.

I think the maximum withdrawal per day only applies to autotellers.
Cashout at say Woolworths once had a daily limit of $400..not sure of the limit nowadays.
However, you can withdraw more at the banks counter...and they will cross examine
you about the reason for your withdrawal if its $10K or more as they have to report it.

So if you rock up each day and withdraw $10,000 day after day after day you will be reported but what can they do?

I notice people suggesting to take your money out if you are afraid of negative interest etc but they never explain how to do it without being arrested for taking out your own money.

Yes, you can withdraw at the moment any amount personally...this will not change...
However transactions larger than $10K will attract possible fines/imprisonment.
It will depend on the definition of your transaction and if the $10K limit goes down..which I believe it will....

CEC advise over 4000 submissions received by Treasury against the $10K cash grab legislation...
Treasury is showing its nervousness as they havent posted submissions and its three weeks since
sibmissions closed...and an official stated that Treasury might not even post the submissions at all
before the Bill is introduced...what a mockery of the whole system....
This is not feedback...its blowback...normally submissions regarding a Treasury Regulation consulation
number about 30....4000 is massive blowback....
Interesting to see what happens next...will the gutless labor party vote in favour of the Bill....

Or will they vote against it....this will be a test for Albanese and his cretins......
