I thought he'd moved to NZ?
From memory, I think one of his companies 'moved' to New Zealand. And yes it was some sort of commercial strategic move which he thought had some winning potential against the Aus Government.

I don't think it's working too well, myself. Same for the Australian people who are very pissed off with his antics during the election.

Clive Palmer did the nation a wonderful service with his election adds. Whereas most people would not vote for Palmer, his adds were extremely effective in turning people who were usually labor voters into voting Liberal, probably for the first time in their lives. His adds pointing out the criminal treason of Labor politicians colluding with our future enemy, Red China, to allow Chinese ports and bases to be built in Australia, apparently in order to aid invasion. That scared the crap out of many Labor voters.

Despite the efforts of the white hating racist class of Brian clones and university activists, working class Australians are patriotic people. So Palmer's adds really struck a chord. It was the same for Bob Brown and his caravan of southern urban misfits who generated untold carbon dioxide driving from their city apartments to lecture the bogans in Queensland. Peter Dutton reckoned that Bob Brown must have been a closet Liberal because of the way traditional Labor voters in Queensland rejected Bill Shorten.
