So if you're at a school and a mass shooting
starts you can't help to kill the psycho?
Your gun is in your car?
Yes, but we usually have plenty of police at the school, especially at Friday night football games. Not so much at band concerts. My son plays saxophone in the band.
Wow - cops have to be at schools to protect kids from psycho killers.
The USA is a dangerous place.

That's a good idea.
I don't think we have such insurance here.
I've never heard of it.
You won't need it Bobby 'cause you're not allowed to have a gun for self defence purposes.
Australia a significantly safer country than the US 'cause we don't have widespread guns in our society.

That's true.
Even if you have evidence of serious death threats against you,
you still can't obtain a firearm for self defence.

What make and model do you carry Tex
Kimber Micro 9
7+1
15.6 oz
tritium/fiber optic sights

Her name is “Emma”.
I worry about people who name inaminate objects. I had a girlfriend once who named her car. I find it a pointless exercise.

Now to your firearm. An interesting little gun. Barrel is a bit short - 3.1 inches (~76nn). What is the effective range for such a weapon? 10 metres? If I was to carry a firearm (which I won't be) I'd rather a Browning highpower 9mm. I know I can hit a target at 25 metres with that length barrel.
When I started carrying, my youngest was 6. I named my gun Carrie because I didn’t want my son asking where my gun was in public. The tradition stuck.

As to the barrel length, I carry concealed and smaller is better. I won’t carry something uncomfortable. Also, I’m not hunting. If I’m 25 meters away, I’ll be looking for cover. I know I am accurate to 15 meters, as that is the length of the indoor range I shoot at. I’m not going to battle. I just want a defense.

Don't worry about Brian - He hasn't got a clue.

"Browning Highpower 9mm"

The Australian Military used Browning 9mm - they have a big kick and most folks couldn't hit at 10 meters due to the kick - not unless experienced.

Out in the Field on Friendly Exercise - the first thing we'd do with the Pistols and Leather Holsters - was to put them in Plastic Bags to keep them clean and dust free for when we handed them back to the Armoury without having to clean them.

It wasn't worth the trouble carrying the heavy uncomfortable things to then turn around and clean the bloody things as well.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

I’ve heard good things about the Browning. John Moses Browning walked on water according to many gun enthusiasts. Even my Kimber is based on the 1911, Browning’s greatest achievement.

As good a handgun as the BH is, Emma is a better concealed carry, And if you are a competent shooter I would back myself for a little more than 10 mtrs

Oh, dearie, dearie, me. Playing in your favourite mud patch are you, Cereal? Tsk, tsk.

Never had a problem with the "kick" or recoil on an L9a1 Pistol, 9mm, Cereal. Perhaps you didn't get given enough practice, Mmmm? My unit used to fire them on most range shoots. Loads of fun. We even used to conduct "yippee shoots" with them. Even the women could handle them quite easily.
Out in the Field on Friendly Exercise - the first thing we'd do with the Pistols and Leather Holsters - was to put them in Plastic Bags to keep them clean and dust free for when we handed them back to the Armoury without having to clean them.
Oh, dear. Sounds like you were either a Turret Head or a Screw. I'd suspect a Screw. Tsk, tsk, "the other enemy" as they were known as...

As they were generally issues to Officers in most units, it was an Orifice's problem.

Personally, I preferred my L1a1. 8-)

Not in a "fight or flight" situation when the Adrenalin is pumping. It makes the hands shaky and therefore your aim is inaccurate. Shorter barrel it makes it worse.
