Sorry to hear that Valkie and I hope she gets better soon.

I had my son in the hospital all last week and was worried sick. Still am as he is displaying more symptoms.

Do they have any idea what it is or is it a "virus"?
Doctor speak for, I have no idea.

Hope he gets well soon, people don't realise how much stress the carers are under when their family is ill.

Not a virus. They found 2 small clots in his right lung and now he is getting pain on the left side. He's on blood thinners which are also bad. *sigh

The only time I have been sick in decades was when I had a flu shot, so not really keen to back that up.

I am the total opposite , I have been having the flu shots every year without fail for donkeys years and never had the flu during that period!

I try not to look in there... and seeing hes back[mong] is kinda creepy I am hoping he is left to talk to himself...I am fed up with PA people giving him air..

to keep locking threads shows signs of paranoia so scared they will miss something so that way they keep control....

fd needs to put a stop to that...but of course he wont...

A lot of people get a flu shot then come down with the flu then blame it. Remember, you get the flu shot during flu season, so chances are....plus, it's not 100% effective but it reduces your chance of getting it, and if you do get it, reduces the severity and for people who are vulnerable it can save lives.

It should be FREE for everybody, not just the under 5s, over 65s and Aboriginals.

Also, a runny nose and a bit of a cough is NOT the flu .... it's a COLD. Common signs and symptoms of the flu include:

Fever over 100.4 F (38 C)
Aching muscles.
Chills and sweats.
Headache.
Dry, persistent cough.
Fatigue and weakness.
Nasal congestion.
Sore throat.

IF you have any of the above symptoms, stay away from work, babies, old people and anybody with immune problems.
