@ Brian
The point is and I realise it is a bit beyond your mind, "Nicole"
For the record Red and Black Orchid, please note that Brian has started with the ad hom attacks, not me.
Which they should note was in response to your belligerent tone when you stated:

If you’re going to defend Islam, defend it or fuck off.

As for the rest of the multicultural lot you have listed, they can fuck off too.
You got back what you served out, "Nicole"...

The point is and I realise it is a bit beyond your mind, "Nicole" but I am NOT defending Islam. I am defending Muslims. Ordinary, everyday, moderate, well assimilated Muslims. You know the people you like to condemn because some loonies they share a religion with? You know the people you make no effort to differentiate from those loonies?
When security services world wide agree that rwenty to twenty five percent of them are radicalised? That’s around 400 million people, bigger than the population of the US. Many of them are radicalised through their mosques, like the one being built in Bendigo.
Again, you make no effort to differentiate between the real loons and the moderate, well assimilated, Muslims, "Nicole". For you, all Muslims are evil. How fair is that? As I have said, why do we have to go down this well worn, ultimately pointless, road of intolerance and prejudice which is all based upon ignorance? You seem to wallow in it, like most Islamophobes. You don't want to look at the reality, you just want to concentrate on your myths. Tsk, tsk.
The point is and I realise it’s a bit beyond your mind, “Brian” but I am not defending Mein Kampf. I am defending Nazis. Ordinary, everyday, moderate, well assimilated Nazis. You know the people you like to condemn because some loonies they share an ideology with? You know the people you make no effort to differentiate from these loonies?
A poor analogy, "Nicole". When you sign up to support the Nazis you are effectively saying you believe in everything that Adolf Hitler proclaimed, including his anti-Semitism and his hatred of all unter mensch. Muslims OTOH, do not sign up for what the Islamists proclaim. Effectively, the Islamists are a separate branch of Islam, completely different to the beliefs of the moderate mainstream Muslims. If you want to use that analogy, how about we talk about Christianity and it's anti-Semitism and its proclamations of supremacy over all non-believers, Mmmm?

It's not Islamophobic to read and recognize simple statistics. For instance, this story from a few years ago speaks volumes:
https://www.theguardian.com/news/databl ... -to-report

Religious extremism has become the main driver of terrorism in recent years, according to this year’s Global Terrorism Index.

And pray tell, which religion is responsible for the vast majority of the slaughter? Take all the time you need. Here comes the answer:

The report recorded 18,000 deaths in 2013, a rise of 60% on the previous year. The majority (66%) of these were attributable to just four groups: Islamic State (Isis) in Iraq and Syria, Boko Haram in Nigeria, the Taliban in Afghanistan and al-Qaida.

Darn, if only we could figure out what those four groups have in common!

Which brings us to an even more relevant point: You can say that most Muslims don't practice terrorism, and that only Islamists do, but which Muslims are which? Unless you've invented an Islamist Detector that can indicate which ones will assimilate smoothly into Western society and which ones will develop Sudden Jihad Syndrome, you're pretty much stuck with crossing your fingers and hoping the ones you accept into your country will lead quiet, productive lives rather than pretending to do so while secretly plotting mass murder in the name of their god.

See, that's the other thing. You can always say that Christians aren't perfect, but when was the last time one of them hijacked a plane and screamed, "This one's for Jesus" before crashing in into a mosque?

What I know for sure is that you never have to worry about Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Yazidis, Methodists, Unitarian-Universalists or Zoroastrians (or their children) getting "radicalized" after being admitted into Western countries. Sure, some mass murderers grew up in a particular faith, but unless they declared that they committed mass murder in the name of their god, that's not the same as Islamic terrorists who massacre, maim, rape and torture people solely because they're "infidels."

And here's an example of what happens when you mistake that mild-mannered Muslim co-worker for a friend:

Muslim newlyweds slaughter co-workers who threw them a baby shower
https://nypost.com/2015/12/03/muslim-ne ... by-shower/

Authorities were investigating terror links after a government worker and his wife shot up his San Bernardino, Calif., office party Wednesday, killing 14 people.

Syed Farook, 28, a devout Muslim, stormed out of the festivities and later returned with his new wife, Tashfeen Malik, 27. Both wore dark tactical gear and masks while toting assault rifles and handguns, police said.

The murderous duo sprayed bullets inside a conference room, slaughtering colleagues who earlier this year had thrown a shower for their new baby.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said Farook left his 6-month-old child with his mother Wednesday morning, claiming he had a doctor’s appointment.

********************
Well, at least they were good enough parents not to expose their baby to loud noise and flying bullets -- you have to give them credit for that!

At any rate, I like the comparison of Muslim immigration to a bag of M & M's. If you knew that 10 percent of the M & M's in a given bag were poison, and that there was no way of telling which ones were which, how many of the M & M's would you eat?

Dont forget youre debating "the voice of reason".....his words..not mine...
The resident moron will, no doubt come back with some priceless condescending comment like "how many muslims do you know"
(BTW he knows about 2....therefore generalizes that "most muslims are peaceful...etc....")
I congratulate you on your patience in debating the rm as I gave up a long time ago....I likened it to talking to
a brick wall..... :rofl

Oh my goshiness... what we have here is a most interesting stalemate.

Beautifully done Nicole. Mind you, it’s completely off topic, but that’s not your fault. Brian never addressed the topic. Now Brian, do you have a problem with the building a religious edifice... is that why you linked the article?

I hope I am able to make an observation without being pounced on myself.

In almost every Thread in which he posts, I see people gather around and to be quite frank, group attack and abuse him. "Forum Moron," "fuck off" from several posters and the inane "Bri Bri (or "Bwi Bwi" or "Bwian.") No wonder he complains and returns fire moderately.

There, I have offered my 2 cents worth.

Tell you what...…..
You start debating him and when you get condescending, sanctimonious belittling answers from him...
….let me know how you are going to react.......
You will probably be told to run off into the little kids playground and roll in the mud with the other kids.....

Oh...and I forgot...calls your kids drug dealers...….

Well, I can only speak for myself and my issues with Brian.
Brian is a hypocrite. You see, he is an atheist who defends Muslims. He does in the name of tolerance... so he says, but the old-timers know that he does it for a shit stir.

Not disagreeing with you, 4E. Yes, Religious extremism does drive Terrorism, world wide.

However, are you suggesting that mainstream, moderate Mosques teach religious extremism? Really?

To also suggest that we don't need to worry about Christian extremists flies in the face of recent history in the US and other places around the world. In India, one of the largest extremist groups is actually Christian in it's teachings. The largest of course is Hindu. In Europe, Christianity predominates in the extremist stakes. In Africa, again, despite all the publicity, the largest Terrorist groups are guess what? Christian. It is why Rwandans are turning to Islam and why the inhabitants of the Central African Republic live in fear. In the US, various Terrorist groups all run under the banner of "Christianity". Terrorism exists around the world and it has many different hues but the end result is the same, now isn't it? Instead of over-concentrating on Muslims - the overwhelming majority of whom are peaceful, law-abiding, assimilated, moderate people, well who should we be looking at, Mmmm?

Not really. Christians are allowed to build churches. Jews Synagogues, Hindus temples, yet it seems that Muslims upset the sensibilities of some people. Could it be because they are Islamophobes, Mmm?

"Nicole" appears to have real problems with (a) Multiculturalism; (b) Multi-religionism; (c) Multiculturalism. Perhaps you need to address your comments to her?
