What is it with tourists?
I live on the central coast of NSW.
30 years ago when I moved up here from that sewer Sydney, it was a lovely place to live.
Quiet and relatively deserted, we only saw ratbags at Xmas and Easter holidays.
But tourists now frequent the place nearly every weekend.
But that's not the worst of it.
At certain times of the year we get the worst of the worst tourists.
Ratbags who think speed limits are suggestions
That residents are there for their benefit
That shopping centres are so primitive that they can shoplift anywhere and at any time
And that road rules and peoples properties are miraculously open to drive on and destroy.
THESE deadbeats generally fit into one of several categories or as we label them vegetables.
First, the potatoes
They leave garbage everywhere they go, beaches are simply dumps for them.
The carrots
Love digging up things with their high powered cars and 4x4s
they have never actually done any real off road, but driving through someone's front yard or property is their adventure. That and smoking their tyres in every street that has either gravel or brand new smooth roads.
The capsicum
Terminally angry, complaining about everything and how it's so much better in that cesspit Sydney.
They whine and complain loud and long about poor telephone coverage, lack of resources, small shopping centres, hot beaches, wet water etc etc.
Finally, the strawberry
These are my favorites
They can be seen every summer holiday.
For some unknown reason, they think that the sun don't burn as hot on the coast as it does in Sydney ( probably they are used to the pollution filtering it)
The wander through the shopping centres, glowing and walking with obviously painful movement, sometimes complaining about the burning sensation.
Sometimes they make the attempt to use sunscreen, but invariably miss large patches, rendering them palimino people of red and white.
But the biggest issue I have with tourists is that they clog everything
The roads, barely capable of handling regular traffic, becomes a parking lot.
The shopping centres, plenty big enough for the locals, become overcrowded and impossible to navigate, to say nothing of the parking availability.
We generally stock up pre-stone holiday so we need not venture out at holiday time.
Or we head off to our little Mecca, at which we are probably seen as tourists.
But we are not carrots, potatoes nor strawberries, and I have never been a capsicum.
Simply because we know what it's like to have these dick heads coming to where you live.

Re: What is it with tourists?
I lived on the Central Coast between 1972 and 1979 and then again from 1990 to 2005.
It was great in the 70s, even though the tourists clogged the streets alarmingly.
The Entrance Road comes to mind...at weekends in particular, it was bumper to bumper..
And perish the thought if you wanted to go to Terrigal.
Since then, (70s) the drug and suicide problem on the Central Coast has become an epidemic.
At one stage one of my sons told me that "they" had stopped compiling statistics
on suicides because they just kept getting worse...
A lot of his friends became drug addicts or are dead.
Dont know if its any worse than western Sydney or Wollongong, but the CC seems to
have always been the same.....
Im glad I left...the place is a toilet.....

Tgere are a couple of really horrible areas, Watanobi, Charmhaven, to name two.
THESE areas a full of druggies, deadbeats, abbos and such.
But there are may areas where life is still quite nice.
Where I live, the neighbours are mostly elderly and we have 4 nursing homes within 200 metres of my home.
Yes the walkers do speed up and down the street, but I generally overtake them with a modest walk.
And apart from the "clunkety clunk" as the walkers are used, the area is reasonably quiet.
After dark, the only annoyance is the occasional fire engine when one of the residents burns their toast, or the rescue helicopter as it heads for Wyong hospital to pick up an emergency patient, on average once or twice a month.
But seriously, every place in Australia has it's problems
Even Dubbo has some serious issues, and that's in the middle of the backwoods of nowhere.
Besides, the drugs are all well controlled
All the locals are well aware of the tricks used.
The local druggies set off firecrackers when the drugs are in.
It's their announcement methodology, but is totally unknown to anyone..wink wink.
When I'm out walking some nights, a hear them go off, and then watch the cars come from everywhere to converge on the appointed place, which differs from time to time.
But the local constabulory just can't seem to find them....nudge , nudge, wink, wink.

Move to a smaller town, no tourists in smaller towns, only exception if they are historic towns. Trust the Bulgarian, I know.

Re: What is it with tourists?
Too old to move now.
The only reason I will move now is if the grubberment gets too greedy and wants to use my home as an assett.
Then Ill sell up everything I have
cash in all mu super.
Auction off all my possessions
and move to a nice quiet little place in Spain near a mate who has lived there for the last 20 or so years.
The only difficulty will be getting my cash off shore and away from these thieving base turds.

If you have to move quickly, in an economic emergency, it will already be too late. You won’t be able to sell for the desired price, and you will sell for fucking pennies. You know how it goes. It’s called speculation.
If you need to get your cash off shore, I will help you with that - in exchange for a small reward, call it a commission if you want.
Spain is good ... if you have no problem living with Blacks. Spain is 4rd in the ranking when it comes to migrant influence. They took the most refugees after Germany, France, Sweden. Italy comes 5th. Spain is a dung heap. Spain is too close to Africa, and they have a sovereign territory under Spanish constitution - cities Ceuta and Melilla. Migrants crossed there easily. They threw urine on border agents and crossed by the thousands, now actually millions. Better pick Portugal if you will choose Iberia.

They all have and carry guns, and are quite happy to use them.
Crime is virtually non-existent and the local authorities are willing to help secure at least a small corner of civilization.
No nigras in that place, they know to come and start trouble is to vanish...rather quickly, never to be seen again.
The locals love it.

Is your friend around Bilbao, Gijon, A Coruña, maybe Zaragoza, if it's not a secret? Northern Spain is not very appetizing to migrants, so I heard. I also didn't know they could carry guns. That's interesting!

The guns are not open carry, but the local cops and authorities keep an eye on them but can be used to protect themselves.
As for troublemakers, they are either moved on or they disappear.
The mate says he don't even lock up his home.

I know gun laws in Spain are very restrictive. He's a lucky one.
