Where did I mention a revolution?

It's around 70 to 70 c per litre
And I'm not sure, but I think there is an additional charge for roads added
And here us a kicker
You pay GST on petrol.
So In fact, you are paying tax on a tax.
Back in the 70s, the garages started putting up posters saying petrol $xx.xx plus tax.
I calculated it out then as $0.73 in the dollar.
The grubberment are as addicted to petrol tax as they are to stamp duty.
Two of the most insidious taxes imaginable.
They do and provide absolutely nuffink and yet get a massive income from it.
It's a wonder they haven't sold it off like they did the lotteries.
WE NEED A REVOLUTION
Revolt against who? It’s the Liberals introduced the GST!
Oh and is that thumbs up you gave to Valkie’s post... What was that for?

Ah, so you agree that the governments tax schedule is offensive, but you don’t think we need to revolt against it.billy the kid wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 11:49 amAnyone with an ounce of brains would see that the thumbs up was for the topic being discussed...ie the exhorbitant

The entire tax system is broken...we all know that...

Re: The bullshit thread
The answer is you can't. You either swallow it and keep paying, you stop paying and join the grey club, or move to another country like Bulgaria where taxes are low to non-existent.billy the kid wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 12:22 pmHow does a nation revolt against governments that tax us to the eyeballs.....

The one that says the least can often have a very different perspective and hold the answer. The least qualified person may hold the most wisdom. When you don’t have knowledge or experience blocking your perspective, you can see problems and solutions.

Does Bulgaria have 90 mile beaches with soft, white sand and sunny skies all year?FLEKTARN wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 1:50 pmThe answer is you can't. What do you pay for petrol/gas for the car?
What would a 3/4 bedroom house cost to buy or rent?
What is the basic wage?
What health care do you have?

Re: The bullshit thread
Now I know many in this forum will find this hard to believe.
But Im a little anal about some things.
One of those things is petrol costs.
Since I started driving my own car (rather than a company car ) I have been monitoring my petrol costs.
I do get a petrol allowance of just over $7000.00 a year, but I still monitor the costs.
Now.
Since July 2014 up until last month, I have spent $26,382.60 in petrol of my two vehicles,
An average of around $5200.00 a year, give or take.
Considering the grubberment takes around 70-75% of that in tax, I can say that they have stolen an additional $3000.00 a year from me in tax.
Add that to the GST, Income tax (I'm in the 48% tax bracket for a goodly part of my income as is all my bonus), fees and charges for anything they can make up, council rates, registration, licences and any number of other grubberment income streams.
makes up quite a tidy part of my earnings.
But we have in australia.....
3rd world roads
4th world public transport.
5th world police
3rd world hospitals
But we do have....
The highest paid politicians, with the highest pension on earth.
The highest medical insurance funds, with the lowest coverage.
the most expensive vehicle and goods in comparison with our incomes.
the worst or close to it, telecommunications system, even though we pay through the nose.
One of the biggest (per capita) and least effective public services in the world.
Some of the lowest pensions with the tightest pension cut off in the world
Yep
The lucky country
For some, but not hard working Australians.
