A very simplistic and naive view of how politics works in Australia, Neferti but not unusual I suppose for you. You appear to have led a very sheltered life if you believe that.
Perhaps Nef could dumb it down even further for you?
Considering you lack the ability to offer anything approaching a rebuttal of a "simplistic and naive view", I would suggest the following tome will be more your level and help you understand exactly where you sit on the political spectrum.

If you manage to fumble your way through, you could try the next volume in the series...

in todays courier mail was an article.
............ Labor is now firmly entrenched in the Left-wing agenda. Big Government. High taxes. Social policies to appease the Twitterverse . Attacking traditional industries like mining and agriculture. And confusing aspiration with privilege. As a result Labor is losing its base. ..............
The 'appease the Twitterverse' phrase sits in perfectly with labor losing all the sydney electorates that have a 'Red Rooster' in them, but winning electorates in the inner sydney.
They lost every electorate north of Brisbane. All of the farming and mining areas, they lost.

They win in inner Sydney because it comprises a huge LGBTQ community who were probably rubbing their hands in glee and hoping for the Sexual Orientation Commissioner promised by Labor.
They should go and live in Melbourne as Melbourne has its own Gender and Sexuality Commissioner

The last REAL Labor Prime Minister was Ben Chifley and before that John Curtin. Then in came Whitless and his radical ideas and FREE everything. Suddenly, blue collar workers' kids could get FREE University Degrees and thus, becoming "progressives" or worse, Greenies.
Hawke turned out better than anticipated. Keating ditto. Neither were REAL Labor PMs though. This is why many blue collar workers (excepted rusted ons) are turning to the Liberals ... because the Liberals really do think about them, whereas Labor is too involved with the so-called "doctors wives" and attracting the middle class Greenies.
Go back to your roots, Labor, or you will be in the wilderness for decades ... Albo is NOT going to do it. There could be a younger person there, a male, who might in a few years challenge the leadership and draw back the traditional LABOR voter.
Aussies need a CHOICE when they vote ...

There was some guy who won a Labor seat in western NSW who was talking about challenging and he had some really good ideas and lots of common sense. I can't remember his name now. He may have brought Labor back to being what they once were but the faceless men wanted Albo.
They don't want to change. They are too arrogant to see it is their policy path that hung them.

The most likely future of the Labor Party is 20 years in opposition.

I don't see Anthony as having leadership qualities. So far he is tainted with Mr Setka's issue. That has got stalled and will cost the alp in all ways.
Anthony also erred on the tax reductions that have passed. He is more a foot soldier
Bill Shorten has lost badly, lacks trustworthiness.

You wouldn't know a real Nazi if he bit you on the bum, Mechie. Afterall, you're the one who is only too willing to jump into bed with them...
