Basically, our beloved human race is that stupid they are flushing things that they aren't supposed to down the toilet. In this case baby wipes. It is blocking sewerage systems. I pity the poor bastards who have to unblock them for a living.

I was cured of betting by my uncle
Many years ago, when I were but a wee lad
He took me to the dog track.
He handed me $100.00 nearly three times what I earned in a week back then.
He said we woukd both bet on the dogs I picked.

I had visions of a new car, or at least lots of cash.
Each race, I lost money, first a lot, then I bet less and less each race.
I had one win and only made up a fraction of what I paid out.

By the end of the night I was broke, nothing left.
My uncle smiled and said

From that day on I never bet on anything
I don't bet on the Melbourne cup
Never on the gee gees, not once on the doggies.
I can't even make myself spend on lotto or the lottery.

I put a few Bob, never more than $5.00 though the pokies at the club when I have dinner, but I consider this a donation, nothing more.
And I get bored after 5 minutes.

I have never gambled in my life. I recall a friend taking me to a Club for my birthday, he gave me $5 in cash to play the pokies. Decades ago. Obviously. I put that through and what dropped I kept which was about double, took that back to get it changed into NOTES and the person asked me whether I want to change it to a different denomination to put through the pokies again and I said " no thanks ... I just want to give my friend what I won."

Another time, I was with my sister, who was a gambler and we were at some Club in Victoria and she drew out $200 to put through the pokies. I was SHOCKED ... I sat with her and she LOST and then wanted me to go and draw another $200 out of her account. She was sure that she could NOT leave that pokie as it was "about to pay, big time". Eventually, she asked me whether I was going to "have a go" at the pokie I was sitting at (next to her) so I looked in my wallet and had 2 x $2 coins, so I stuck those in the slot, got a drop and put that back in my wallet. After that she called me the Last of the Big Spenders. She lost $400 that day ... and was going to draw more but got talked out of it. Geeze! She died from Pancreatic Cancer in 2007 ... I do miss her but ....

I have never bought a Lottery ticket.

As a teenager I watched my uncle put a small fortune through the pokies....his addiction kept his family poor.
Ive never touched them to this day....
I once had a share in a harness horse...a lot of fun...it won a couple of races...
I never bet on the dogs....greyhounds and pokies are for suckers....
Gambling is like gardening, fishing, golf...surfing..hiking, camping..you either do it or you don't...each to his own..
Im 70...been punting all my life...

But one set up so that those in the know will always win.

Insider trading is illegal and severely punished........

Except when a politician or public servant does it.
Politicians and public servants know what laws will pass, what zoning will happen, hell they even manipulate it to their advantage ANF buy and sell stocks accordingly.
