Imagine a skyscraper CGI'd on top of this building. That was OCP headquarters in the original Robocop movie in the 80s. It's actually Dallas City Hall.

The Texas State Capitol Building in Austin is the only state capitol building taller than the American Capitol Building in D.C..

This is the Alamo. 200 of Texas' founding fathers gave their life in this building in the battle for our independence from Mexico. They killed about 600 Mexicans before being overrun. The city of San Antonio has grown up around the site, but it was once in open plains. There is a replica about 60-70 miles East, where John Wayne filmed his Alamo movie. The replica is more like the site as it was in the 1800s. Texans treat this place like a holy place. You can still see the bullet scars in the walls when you walk inside.

I watched The Alamo only a few weeks ago. One of their Saturday afternoon oldies. Then I spent some time reading about it but didn't know there was a replica.

Oh, dear, I appear to have upset you, Neferti. Well, I'm not sorry. I prefer to talk about reality, rather than myths. The Texans led by James Bowie and William Travis, were only interested in freedom for white people and wanted to continue to own slaves, despite the Mexican Governments emancipation decree in 1829. Texas was a province of Mexico and the Texans were revolting against the legal government.
