SC, the only problem with that ref is that it is very old and way out of date now.

Much work has been done since then on modernizing the concept.
it could well have done. that report was 15 years ago.

Not much has changed in 15 years since the report was issued - except the onset of Climate Change. It's results are still valid. Bradfield and his disciples appeared to have believed that redirecting water was easy and it's effects would be immediate. They aren't and they won't be.

Unable to argue the science so instead we see the usual "attack the sources" style of argument. Tsk, tsk.

we cant keep wasting water after water...

I dont think its even an argument to be honest...

if we can put a man on the moon we can do this...

Cods, I agree with your sentiment but there are scientific facts that cannot be overcome.

Bradfield's scheme was based upon conditions in Europe, not Australia. He used the incorrect amount of evaporation in making his determinations. Unless you want rivers to be covered over, evaporation will occur. There will be no or little water left by the time it reaches Lake Eyre. Australia is a dry continent and with Climate Change it is likely to become drier. We could be much better off addressing Climate Change, reducing CO^2 and Methane production and trying to reduce the temperatures which we will experience.

CO2 is a harmless natural gas that all life on earth depends on you retard.

Only a complete ****wit would believe that CO2 is affecting climate in any way...

If anything ... we could do with more of it..

CO^2 causes the "Greenhouse Effect" whereby the sun's rays enter the atmosphere but are unable to escape, thereby becoming trapped and increasing the heating of the Earth. This drives Climate Change. The CO^2 created by man's industrial actions drives the Greenhouse Effect. While it appears to be a small amount, it is not insignificant and we have not experienced the rapid build up of CO^2 on this scale before.

HI Brian,

Are you trying to tell us that an invisible harmless gas, that is vital to every living thing on earth, that is in our atmosphere at 0.04%, is going to make our World end?, and is somehow causing a "greenhouse effect" ?

:rofl

Cuckoo Cuckoo! :b

Hi Cods,
I agree - we waste too much water in
the Northern Territory.
