The one that says the least can often have a very different perspective and hold the answer. The least qualified person may hold the most wisdom. When you don’t have knowledge or experience blocking your perspective, you can see problems and solutions.

Re: Architecture Thread
Thanks. That's sad btw. Many of our churches are preserved as historic monuments. You can visit as a tourist.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 5:44 pm
That's beautiful. I love old churches. Many of our churches are being sold and turned in 'prayer halls'
Here's another one, from the smallest CITY in Bulgaria. Melnik, a town of population 385. It was only 305 in around 10 years ago. I've personally been there, I can't use words to portray the sights accurately. You've got to see it so you can feel it.

Re: Architecture Thread
The Turkish occupation of the Balkans in the 14th-15th century resulted in a long period of decline, but Melnik was once again a thriving town in the 17th and 18th century, the time of the Bulgarian National Revival, due to the tobacco and wine production, with wine being exported abroad, mainly to England and Austria. In that time Melnik was also a centre of craftsmanship, particularly church decoration and woodcarving. Many Bulgarian schools and churches were built in Melnik in that period.

Melnik looks like a big town for 385 people. Very pretty also.
