Busty babe gets fined for nothing
A female driver is furious after receiving a hefty fine because
her passenger was using FaceTime while she was driving.

'I honestly didn't know that was a thing': Driver fumes as she's handed a $337 fine for a VERY little-known offence - as fellow motorists share her outrage
A driver was fined $337 because her passenger was on her phone using facetime
Others shared her anger, but police and RMS confirmed it's a legitimate offence
Last month a NSW man was fined because his passenger was using a laptop.
A female driver is furious after receiving a hefty fine because her passenger was using FaceTime while she was driving.
Sheree, from Sydney, posted a photo of her $337 fine to social media, saying she had no idea she was breaking the law.
'Tell your passengers to stay off their phones while you are driving, I got fined because my passenger was on FaceTime,' she wrote.
'Honestly didn’t know that was a thing.'
The offence on the fine was listed as 'Drive vehicle with TV/VDU image likely to distract'.
Her post has been shared more than 10,000 times, and other drivers echoed her anger, arguing the little-known offence should be publicised more.
'What a joke. They haven’t advertised this much. As if we need something else to control while we’re driving,' one woman wrote.
'Ok this is ridiculous. I get drivers being off their phones etc but this is pathetic,' wrote another.
'Tell me you’re going to fight this?!?! That’s ridiculous,' another woman wrote.
But it turns out that the bizarre offence is actually a law in New South Wales.

It's crazy.
What if you have a Tom Tom Sat Nav stuck to the bottom of the
the center of your windscreen?
I use one whenever I don't know the streets well.
Would I be fined in NSW?
What about cars with an inbuilt Sat Nav?

oh wow.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

I'd say it was just a Cop being over officious and trying to fill his booking quota.
I checked the ACT Rules (we often have similar ones to NSW) and you can use a mobile phone "provided it is securely mounted" and I presume that you don't start texting, putting it up to your ear, etc. Can't you speak and get directions that way?
Probably worth checking your State's Rules about such things.

I don't know what they are in Victoria.
They change them all the time.
Can you use a Sat Nav in NSW?

I use my phone on a windshield magnetic mount for navigation next to the A pillar. I wonder if they would hassle me for that. I drive to a different job site every day and need to use navigation. I guess I could go back to the old days of looking up the site on a map and memorizing the route, but my nav is much easier.
It sounds like the cop was just trying to fill out his quota or he wanted to flirt. She must have shot him down.

Cops in Australia don't try to flirt with hot babes -Texan wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 10:41 amI use my phone on a windshield magnetic mount for navigation next to the A pillar. If you say so. Cops are very professional in Texas. Mrs. Texan almost never gets out of a ticket when pulled over, but she hasn't been pulled over since she got her License To Carry. Cops like to see that because they know you are law abiding and background checked. It helps when you are pulled over.Bobby wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 10:55 amCops in Australia don't try to flirt with hot babes -Texan wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 10:41 amI use my phone on a windshield magnetic mount for navigation next to the A pillar. Or the cops in Texas don't like pulling over an armed person in case they've had a bad day.

NSW Mobile Phone, Navigation Devices, etc Rules:
https://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au ... rules.html
Victorian Mobile Phone, Navigation Devices, etc Rules:
https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/safety- ... nd-driving
Seems they are the same as in the ACT.
It doesn't say anything about what your passengers are doing with their Mobile Phone.
