Having experienced private schools, I sent my kids to public ones. My sister-in-law was a school teacher. She worked damned hard to try and get kids to learn the three Rs. The problem was that the kids didn't see any point in learning them. Too many distractions. Which is why I limited the computer time for my kids. I installed time tracking software which prevented them from logging on. Micro$oft has barely touched on the idea in Windoze - still a decade later. My kids learnt to read and read books. Little has changed as far as I can tell with private schools. Still a load of brats who think it's more important to kick a football than read a book. Wallies.

The public school system here used to be excellent before the progressives got their claws into it. It also depends on the area where you live and what nonsense minorities rule there.

I went to a private school and I read lots of books and guess what? I didn't kick a football once. I also had a wonderful and well rounded education and learned how to spell.

Teachers these days are undereducated morons.

They go to school and are indoctrinated into a culture of stupid mantras and futile causes.
Then they go to uni, where they are further brain washed by uni teachers who themselves have never worked in the real world and live in this twisted world of queers and strange ideas.

Finishing uni, armed with years of brainwashing and indoctrination, they go on to distort reality for the next generation of victims.

Teach the kids math, science, writing and comprehension has gone out the door.
It is more important to chant the mantra of 72 genders and male emasculation.

They leave school totally unprepared for the real world and everyone suffers as a result.

Teachers should be required to work in a real job for a minimum of 10 years before teaching.
Learning how the real world works and the trial and tribulations therein.
Only then will they be prepared to teach children.

Regardless of education I don't think most 16-18 year olds can be prepared for the 'real world' as such. Most are still children in adult bodies. Over 60% drop out of University in the first year because they really don't know what they want to do.

I think a better idea would be a gap year before Uni for all those who are undecided. Especially boys.

We had vocational guidance counsellors at school who would help you figure out what you wanted to do through your strengths and weaknesses. Not sure they have those anymore.
