Nigel Farage

Post by sprintcyclist » Mon May 27, 2019 2:13 am

NIGEL Farage is preparing to celebrate a landslide win for his new Brexit Party when the European Election results are declared tonight. The results of the poll, arranged hastily in Britain after the government failed to enact Brexit in time, will be declared at 10pm.

After the polls closed on Thursday leading Tory and Brexiteer, Daniel Hannan, predicted his party would pay a price for its failure to deliver Brexit.

He said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for the Conservatives today. My sense, for what it’s worth, is that we are facing a total wipeout – zero MEPs. I just hope our next leader can get Brexit over the line.”

Plummeting poll ratings at the expense of Mr Farage's party prompted the Tories to hasten the departure of Theresa May, who announced she was quitting on Friday.

The Brexit Party's expected success has come after Mrs May missed her March 29 Brexit deadline and had to extend Britain's EU membership until at least October 31.

Cross-party talks with Jeremy Corbyn to find a solution also broke down, leaving the Conservatives now searching for a new leader.

Labour has also braced itself for poor results as Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell revealed that the party is expecting a "good kicking" in the elections.

Pollsters put the Brexit Party to get the most votes, with 30-35%, with either Labour or the Lib Dems to be second, with 15-25%. The Tories languish in 4th with many forecasts, just ahead of the Greens.

Mr McDonnell’s comments come after Labour leader Tom Watson criticised the party’s stance on Brexit and urged the party to “find some backbone” and fully commit to a second referendum or face another blow in the next general election.

Speaking to Sky news, Mr McDonnell said: “I think we most probably will get a good kicking in the election results tonight.

“We’ll see. We are braced for that.”

Labour is expected to surrender support primarily to the pro-Remain Liberal Democrats, with the Greens and Ch

Nigel Farage's Brexit Party is set to sweep to victory in the European election, with Theresa May's Conservatives trailing and due to win around 10 per cent of the vote, according to a BBC projection.

The BBC forecast the Brexit Party would top the polls, with the pro-EU Liberal Democrats set to come second.
May's ruling Conservatives were forecast to get between 10 and 12 per cent of the vote.
That Tory vote would be down from 24 per cent in 2014

No, I did not see the 8 people after Mays job. Amazing.

Hopefully they get the idea of what the voters want now.

Done
NIGEL Farage has insisted he could WIN a general election after his Brexit Party romped to victory in the EU elections last night.

Mr Farage hailed his party's success as he was elected as South East MEP, saying: "There's a huge message here."

EU Elections 2019: The South East region elects four Brexit Party MEPs including Nigel Farage to the European Parliament
He added: "The Labour and Conservative parties could learn a big lesson from tonight - though I don't suppose that they actually will."

And in a stark warning to the Westminster parties, Mr Farage said: "If we don't leave on October 31 then the scores you have seen for the Brexit Party today will be repeated in a general election - and we are getting ready for it."

Mr Farage repeated his demand for the Brexit Party to be involved in the negotiations ahead of the postponed Halloween deadline for Britain to leave the EU.

After 10 of the 11 constituencies in England, Scotland and Wales had declared, the Brexit Party had 28 seats.

That number eclipses the 24 MEPs that Mr Farage's former party UKIP sent to the European Parliament in 2014.

MAIN PARTIES ROUTED
On a terrible night for the Conservatives and Labour, the pro-EU Liberal Democrats emerged as the other big winners.

The results underline the continuing deep divisions over Brexit in British politics.

Foreign Secretary and Tory leadership hopeful Jeremy Hunt said the dire results for the Conservatives meant the party faced an "existential risk" unless it delivered Brexit.

Meanwhile two of Labour's most senior figures - Emily Thornberry and Tom Watson - tore into the campaign fought by lacklustre leader Jeremy Corbyn.

They claimed the party had lacked a clear message and should have backed a second referendum.

Mr Corbyn said: "With the Conservatives disintegrating and unable to govern, and parliament deadlocked, this issue will have to go back to the people, whether through a general election or a public vote."

In a sign that he could consider a shift in position, he added: "Over the coming days we will have conversations across our party and movement, and reflect on these results on both sides of the Brexit divide."

LIB DEM BOOST
The Lib Dems, who were reduced to just a single MEP in 2014 - were on 15 seats with 10 of the 11 regions declared.

Labour had 10, halved from 20, the Greens - who also enjoyed a boost from pro-EU voters - were on seven, up from three in 2014.

Plaid Cymru equalled the single seat they won in 2014.

The Tories had just three MEPs, having won 19 in 2014.

Mr Hunt said "we knew it was coming but still a painful result" adding there was an "existential risk to our party unless we now come together and get Brexit done".

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable said it had been a "brilliant set of EU results" with the party "making gains around the country with some really impressive swings in many seats".

It was "proof that the Lib Dems are the biggest, strongest voice of Remain".

You know, if Farage was a man of his word, he wouldn't have stood for the EU Parliament, again...

Looks to me like he believes he is on a gravy train... Funny that, hey?

The BBC has been doing all it can to downplay Farage's historic win and even got Labor Crack, Alastair Campbell, on their show to accuse Nigel Farage of taking Russian money.

Here we go - could they be any stupider?

US Liberals have already tried this one and they came undone big time.

BBC says it's NOT biased after viewers accused it of downplaying Brexit Party's victory, focusing on Remainer successes - and letting Alastair Campbell accuse Farage of taking Russian money
Unbelievable

the BBC is like our far leftwing ABC - both need to be shut down.

About the clown Farage - wasn't that the same fool who spoke shit about Romanians and Bulgarians are few years ago, said that they were gonna storm the Island and destroy it? When he tactfully never mentioned the millions of Caribbean nogs and other Paki Muslims, who are there doing violent and sexual crimes for the last 30 years or so, parasitising and living on state welfare.

Moron. :thumb

He's not a moron, actually. He's just a pawn in the game. And pawns fall first. He's serving his masters, for now. Then when they don't need him anymore...
