All the old peoples homes in the area preclude this activity.

But during the day, it's old people using walkers everywhere.

Graphic new details have been revealed about a terrorist's plan to kill a neighbour, who he slashed multiple times in Sydney's south-west three years ago.

Sydney pharmacy student Ihsas Khan was found guilty of carrying out a terrorist act over the machete attack on 57-year-old Wayne Greenhalgh in September 2016.

Greenhalgh was slashed a number of times but survived.

Khan didn't give evidence at his trial, but he did speak at his sentencing hearing at the NSW Supreme Court in Parramatta.

He told the court on Thursday he wanted to behead, disembowel and carve the word ISIS into Greenhalgh's forehead before he was stopped by some brave neighbours.

The court was also told Khan's original intention was to kill Jewish students at a university.

A baby boy is the latest, and youngest, victim to be caught up in another nighttime shooting - after his home in Sydney's southwest was shot up.

It's the fifth gun attack across the city in 48 hours.

In the latest incident, bullets were fired into a house in Mount Pritchard - the occupants, a woman and baby.

Two hours later a gunshot victim called for help at a park in nearby Canley Vale, about six kilometres from the home.

He had been shot in the arm and was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The Mt Prichard is one of five drive-by shootings across Sydney in the past 48 hours.

Seven people were inside a home on Charles St at Ryde when more than a dozen shots were fired into the house, as well as into a car, about 1.15am on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, shots were fired at a house on Yukka Rd in Regents Park just before 1am on Wednesday. The same house had been the target of a drive-by on Tuesday morning.

There was also a shooting in Berala.

Police have described an 18-year-old’s death as ‘brutal’ after a massive brawl broke out at a house party in Sydney’s southwest.

“Bubbly” teen Alex Ioane has been revealed as the victim who died at the scene after a fight escalated at a 16th birthday party.

One of Mr Ioane’s friends Freda Tuese told reporters they had been celebrating when the brawl started over “something petty, something little that happened inside the party”.

“We obviously did not know that this was going to happen,” she said, The Daily Telegraph reported.

“There was a fight inside and then it escalated onto the street.”

Ms Tuese said Mr Ioane’s family were in shock over his death, describing him as someone who was “bubbly, he was funny he was always happy”.

Police confirmed the teenager was found on the roadway with serious head injuries outside a house in Ingleburn in Sydney’s southwest overnight.

A Sydney man has been sentenced to 36 years in prison for stabbing his neighbour during a "violent, ferocious and inhumane" terrorist attack.

Ihsas Khan, who likened his attack to eating a chocolate bar, stabbed Wayne Greenhalgh in a driveway in Minto, in the city's south west, on September 10, 2016.

Mr Greenhalgh survived his life-threatening injuries after running to a nearby hair dressing salon for help.

In the Supreme Court in Parramatta today, Justice Geoffrew Bellew said Khan was motivated by an "immoral and depraved" ideology to kill in the name of religion.

"The offender's attack was violent, ferocious and inhumane," he said.

"The offender did not just set out to harm Mr Greenhalgh, he was on a mission to kill him."

Justice Bellew sentenced Khan to 36 years in prison with a non-parole period of 27 years.

There were loud cheers and applause from the public gallery, where Mr Greenhalgh sat with his family.

"You beauty," one person yelled.

We need a few more Gaols. Plus less leftard Magistrates/Judges .... locked them up and hard labour would do a lot of them good. The majority of Prison Officers (or whatever they are called) are way too soft. Gaol should not be a holiday and somewhere to have a few weeks with 3 meals a day, a warm bed and even TV. Some even get drugs when there. Calling them Corrective Services is a joke.

Seems like we have Bobby's problem now with a gang of black youths looting electronics stores across Sydney. They are aggressive and violent but the police called them shoplifters up until now

Now they are setting up yet another special task force to deal with them. We can add that to the half a dozen middle eastern task forces we already have.
