Mothers Day is the second Sunday in May (tomorrow) here and Fathers Day is the first Sunday in September.

our labor govt is working on us getting days off to enjoy them as only we can...

This has been a big Mother's Day. My mother is in KS to visit my son, who is a new dad. I sent Mom chocolate covered strawberries, but since they were delivered to my son's house, I had to send more strawberries to my daughter in law. She is a first time mother. I helped out my 17 year old by buying the lovely Mrs. Texan some strawberries. (Sharri's "Berries) Tomorrow, we will take the lovely Mrs. Texan and my MIL to lunch and have her spend the day with us. We lost my FIL back in January. They had been married almost 70 years. I think she will enjoy the visit.

Where are my manners. I forgot to brag on my mother.

My mother has worked tirelessly to give my brother and I every possible opportunity to succeed. She disciplined us when needed and always loved us. She was a perfect example of what a parent should be and a perfect example of how a child should love her parents. I wish that everyone could have a mom like mine. The world would be a much better place.

My mom is my avatar for the weekend. If you aren't worried about privacy concerns, I encourage you to use your mother to represent you in your avatars. Happy Mother's Day again.

Really nice sentiments Tex. My mum passed a couple of years ago. I have a pic of her on the computer somewhere when she was a young woman. I will try to find it.
