Texas is getting rid of stop light cameras. These cameras take photos of your car running a stop light and mail you a ticket and there is no defending against the ticket, even if you loaned your car to your neighbor and he ran the light in your car.

I hear you Tex. But riddle me this: why is Australia (and I imagine the US) chock-a-block full of Chinese voting with their feet?

Because the opportunity for upward mobility is greater in the US(and I assume Australia). If you make wise choices and work hard you can do very well here.

He'd have a hard time enforcing such an agreement. What he and most Australians forget, the concept of Party really has only come to the fore after the Australian Constitution was written and political parties are only mentioned once in the Constitution. Anybody know where?

This means that we elect individuals, not parties and so, when an individual is elected, they can form alliances with whom ever they desire. Look at Fraser Anning. He was elected to replace Malcom Roberts for the PHONies. He resigned the day he took his oath in the Senate. He then joined the Katter Party. He made his maiden speech and pissed even Bob Katter off. He was kicked out of the KAP and then sat as an independent and before the election formed his own party. He is now standing to represent that party. Will he get more than Malcolm Roberts' 19 votes? Possibly.

Police vehicles can scan every vehicle they pass here too. Usually looking for unregistered vehicles.

I saw on our news the other night where Texas is getting rid of traffic cameras but we were assured that wouldn't happen here because it is a huge revenue raiser for the state government. Huge huge revenue raiser.

If caught you can appeal it though, for instance, if you had loaned your car out or it was stolen etc.
