And the rest of us would be at the mercy of one of the worst human rights regimes the world has seen. Valkie you reject socialism yet applaud communism. Very odd stance.
I lived in China for several years, the home of communism
They lived fairly free lives, as long as you didn't do the wrong thing or brought yourself to the authorities attention.
I have lived in Russia for 2 years, that is somewhat more communist than China, but again they had reasonable freedom providing you behaved yourself.
The US was more controlling than either of the above, you actually have less freedom there than in China from what I observed.
But for nanny state oppression, Australia takes the cake.
Everything is monitored, watched, analysed and reported.
Our politicians have taken Machiavellian to a new level making even Orwell appear to be an optimist.
And it will not get better, only worse.
The grubberment refuses time and again to give us a bill of rights.
They know doing so will end their tyranny and thus their ability to rob us blind while being free to live corrupt lives themselves.
I would like China to take over Australia to control these dictators, to clean out the public service of the corruption and greed.
China also knows the best way to control the PLAGUE of the CULT of DEATH.
Hi comrade Valkie,
Are you now or have you ever been a
member of the communist party?
Of course not
The communist party have no idea
They are simply more lost souls looking for reasons to object.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

Valkie, for Pete’s sake, China doesn’t even have google.
Until very recently, they were only allowed to have one kid. If you are poor and follow orders, you have nothing to lose and cost your masters nothing. I wouldn't call that freedom, but it may be peaceful with nobody riding you to obey.
I can see his assessment of the US. We are taxed 6 ways to Sunday and big brother is growing. If we were to be targeted by our government, they can trace our whereabouts with our phones, credit card, and toll tag usage. They can tell our political ideology by our purchases. They know who we donate money to. In some major cities, they have cameras with facial recognition, especially around major sporting venues. Many police cars have license plate cameras. If you have an outstanding warrant and the cop drives by your car, it lets them know. They can also use that data to track the location of every plate it reads. It can be overwhelming.
Texas is getting rid of stop light cameras. These cameras take photos of your car running a stop light and mail you a ticket and there is no defending against the ticket, even if you loaned your car to your neighbor and he ran the light in your car.
I hear you Tex. But riddle me this: why is Australia (and I imagine the US) chock-a-block full of Chinese voting with their feet?

Hi Cods,
I don't believe a damn word of any of this election rubbish.
Politicians are all professional liars.

It's mostly propaganda that Chinese are oppressed.
I guess that is why so many have fled here?
If they are so oppressed, why does China have so many millionaires?
Corruption.
As for the one child rule.
You know my feelings on overpopulation, he Chinese understood this need to depopulate the world, and set an example.
Unfortunately, the world ignored it and our population continues to grow uncontrolled.
They are so sensitive and forward thinking that they toss new born baby girls in to the gutter whilst 100s of people just walk past and ignore it because it is the norm.
The world will not end in nuclear war, alien invasion, climate catastrophe
The world will end because we will overpopulated it, use up all the resources and suffocate in our ow filth.
And living under a communist regime is not the solution.
Perhaps China is more sensible than most countries.
A little hard, yes, but much more forward thinking than we believe.
Feel free to buy a one way ticket then.

Come on Cods,
just watch the debates.
They never answer any questions -
they just push their own wheel barrow.
Imagine if the boss asked you a question at work and you answered like a politician?
You'd be sacked in less than a week.

Because the opportunity for upward mobility is greater in the US(and I assume Australia). If you make wise choices and work hard you can do very well here.
