A man has been shot at Campbelltown station and raced to hospital in a serious condition.

Police said Transport Command officers were talking to the man just outside the station when an altercation occurred.

It's alleged the man - believed to be in his 30s - then threatened the police officers with a knife.

A taser was deployed but the man continued to threaten police, who then shot him.

He was then taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Two men have been arrested and two are on the run after a series of home invasions, car jackings and a high-speed crash in Sydney's south-west.

A large-scale police operation was sparked by the incidents, which began at 7:00am when four men wearing balaclavas broke into a home in Fairfield.

A Sydney woman has been found guilty of keeping two Thai women as slaves.

Rungnapha "Lisa" Kanbut was found guilty by a NSW District Court jury on Wednesday of two counts each of intentionally possessing a slave, exercising powers of ownership over a slave and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

The two Thai women, who voluntarily came to Australia from Asia to do sex work, lived with Kanbut and her husband at their home in 2004 and 2005 respectively.

They testified at Kanbut's trial that she took their passports and returned them once they had each paid off a $45,000 "debt" which took some months.

A judge has been asked to show 'some leniency' to a notorious Skaf pack rapist who walked out of jail only to deal in $120,000 worth of the drug ice.

Mohamed Ghanem, 35, was Bilal Skaf's 'enthusiastic lieutenant' during the Skaf gang's reign of terror in Sydney prior to the 2000 Olympics. Ghanem was jailed for 14 years over the depraved rape of two schoolgirls, 16 and 17, in a suburban park with his friends.

He was freed on parole and had a year left on his sentence when police caught him supplying almost one kilogram of the drug ice to a Brisbane businessman in late 2017.

Ghanem's barrister, Avni Djemal, today told a sentencing hearing at the New South Wales District Court that 'some leniency for this offender in this circumstance could be warranted'.

'He grew up in jail,' Mr Djemal told Judge Donna Woodburne SC. '(The) elephant in the room in respect of this, he's still paying for that offence in many ways.'

A 20-year-old woman who falsely accused a Sydney father of indecently assaulting her after he stopped to fix her car had told lies because she didn't want to get into trouble, a court has heard.

Caitlyn Gray pulled into a Sydney BP in November last year after she smashed her car.

Bankstown man Kenan Basic offered to help with the damage, spending almost two hours working to get the car back on the road.

Security vision shows him attending to her vehicle.

Gray then told police Basic had allegedly propositioned her for sex in return for his help before he pursued her in the car and later indecently assaulted her at a different location.

At the time, police described Basic's alleged behaviour as "predatory".

He was charged with numerous offences including indecent assault and put behind bars after being refused bail.

But Basic always claimed he was innocent and on May 6 the charges against him were thrown out in court after Gray admitted to making it all up.

In court on Wednesday, she entered a plea of guilty.

Gray had told investigators she "lied because I didn't want to get into trouble", the court heard.

"I would have eventually come clean," Gray told police.

The court was told the lies Gray told police are of the high end of the serious nature.

Basic spent two weeks behind bars, lost his job and marriage as a result of the false allegations.

He'll be back in court next month, where he'll fight for police to pay his legal bills.

Brian Lee, 29, has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of 56-year-old Klaus Petr near Hurstville train station in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police were called to the Forest Road entrance of Hurstville station in Sydney's south just after 6am, following reports that a man had been stabbed.

Mr Petr staggered at least 20 metres before collapsing, and was discovered by a group of women doing Tai Chi in a park, police said.

He suffered "major trauma" and severe lacerations to his body and could not be saved by police and paramedics who rushed to the scene.
