Labors $9000 Wage Theft .

Post by Serial Brain 9 » Sun May 05, 2019 8:46 am

“Respected economist’s home is egged after a wealthy climate activist from one of Australia’s most privileged families posts his ADDRESS and a picture of his house online.”

Economist Brian Fisher was able to show that Labor’s carbon taxes would cause wages to drop by $9000 a year, cause over 336,000 job losses and cost the economy $470 billion.

Climate rent seekers will do anything to protect their taxpayer funded profits.
Respected economist's home is egged after a wealthy climate activist from one of Australia's most privileged families posts his ADDRESS and a picture of his house online

A highly respected economist's home was egged after a wealthy climate activist from one of Australia's most privileged families posted his address online.

The egging of Brian Fisher's Canberra home happened a day after he released his latest report into the possible economic outcomes of Labor's climate policy.

Simon Holmes a Court, the son of Australia's first billionaire, had posted on Twitter telling the media to 'send a camera crew around to film' Dr Fisher's offices.

In the tweet, the clean energy activist also included Mr Fisher's his home address and an image of his house.

Mr Fisher told Daily Mail Australia he was stunned when he discovered his address had been shared publicly.

'Today it appears that you can't have that sort of rational debate,' he said.

'It's been a bit of a shock. I don't think it's good to be bullied into not saying anything.

'I've always been of the belief of ideas and debate being important, not only in election campaigns but all the time, transparency and debate important in developing policy.

'The notion that people want to bully other people having a debate ... that's sort of counter to what democracy is supposed to be about.'

This was not the first time activists had targeted Mr Fisher's home.

When his initial modelling on Labor's climate policy was released in March, people would show up at his home, being 'annoying', he said.

Mr Fisher has now decided to increase the security around his house.

'I think it’s a pity I have to do that sort of stuff,' he said.

Mr Holmes a Court had removed the tweet by Thursday afternoon.

Mr Fisher's report estimated that Labor's 45 per cent emissions reduction target on 2005 levels by 2030 with open access to international permits would result in a GDP loss of $53 billion.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten hit back once the report was released, raising questions around who paid for the report.

'This fellow and his report remind me of the doctors that the big tobacco companies used to roll out in the 70s and 80s to say that smoking was healthy for you. We will file this report under 'P' for propaganda,' he told The Australian.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Simon Holmes a Court for comment.

Yeah Morriscum was spruiking this dodgy modelling !

Disgusting prick!

More Dodgy Climate Modelling with Flawed Assumptions

New analysis of the new BAE economics modelling by Brian Fisher released today, highlights that it is based on numerous flawed assumptions which cast serious doubt to the validity of the claims contained.

Key Findings:

Fisher’s results are contradicted by a large economic literature. The Australia Institute has identified 17 reports from the last five years alone and 3 major reports from Treasury. They show deep cuts are possible with very small or positive economic impacts and strong ongoing economic growth.

Fisher uses costs of abatement that are ridiculously high and widely contradicted. They are many times higher than government commissioned assessments from three years ago.

Fisher explicitly ignores the high cost of inaction. Despite citing a report that says the costs of inaction to Australia are more than $130bn a year – even without considering disaster impacts.

Fisher misrepresents Australia’s commitment under the Paris Agreement. He conflates Paris with current 26% ‘down-payment’ pledge, when in fact in the Paris Agreement, Australia agreed that “much greater emission reduction efforts will be required” to 2030.

“While there is legitimate debate on the best climate policy for Australia, it is important that information is factual,” said Richie Merzian, Climate & Energy Program Director at The Australia Institute.

“The last time Australians saw Labor’s climate policies in action, emissions went down 2%, the economy grew by 5% and employment increased by 200,000 jobs. Given that experience, why would anyone place any weight on Brian Fisher’s modelling which predicts the exact opposite happening?

“The modelling uses the absurdly high price of over $400 a tonne if there is no trading. It assumes firming costs for renewable energy could be as high as $200 MWh when the Government-owned Snowy 2.0 is offering firmed renewable contracts at $70MWh.

“This new modelling also excludes the huge cost of climate impacts resulting from weak versus ambitious reduction targets, which by a study Fisher himself previously referenced, is around $130 billion per year.

“The Government has an entire department at its disposal with hundreds of economists. It is very telling that the Minister Angus Taylor and this Government are relying on one report from one consultant who critics say has a long history of working for the coal industry and frankly, he’s never met a climate action policy that he’s liked.”
