If I had the time to do over again I would do it differently. I also think girls handle it all better than boys. Boys tend to completely lose their shyt around year 9.
I wish we pushed her a bit more thru primary, not to the extent of not having a life but to make up for a couple of lame public school teachers.

My boy will be interesting. 2 years old and cop this,
Identify numbers up to 100.
Can identify all letters and can spell his name
That’s good. Make sure he is ahead of his classmates when he gets to school. He’ll work harder because he will always think he’s smarter. He’ll expect himself to be at the head of the class.
Will do, we never stop passive learning. Even on a walk/bike ride he stops at every house to look at the letter boxs and tells me the number.

There's a mum/baby I often see in the playground and she always does the most ridiculous baby talk with her 2 year old and the other day I heard here saying, wook at da widdle burdie he's walking a wound and wooking for sum yum yums to eat.... It literally made me want to vomit!
I have pictures on my phone of about 30 different birds and he's memorized them and can name them when he sees them. He walked up to the bird the mum was point to and said, daddy look, an Ibis.

The school here are crap so I am paying for my Daughter private tuition for English and Math to keep her on par with western education. That is after spending over $30k AUD on her school every year.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

I wish I had had the money to do the same.
But alas, during my children's formative years, I was paying of mortgages of 18%.

Teachers are far too focussed on rubbish.
It's not their job to educate children on morals or stupid gender politics.
The teachers should teach a valuable curriculum based on factual, functional and useful data, math, reading , writing, history and geography, without putting a political bent to it.

My real education started after I left school.
Poorly prepared, thanks to idiot teachers with idealist agenda, I started my working life ill prepared.
But I have sought education that has been useful.
Gaining knowledge and building skills and honing my natural abilities.

I can honestly say that my early school years were a waste of time.
They didn't even teach me to read, tgat was done by my parents.

Schools are desperately in need of a shake up.
Firstly, get rid of the female control.
Even it up, 50- 50 male female.
That's what women are demanding in every other industry.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

OK a kind of funny story for ya'll.

My daughter just had her term2 year7 streaming tests and is in all the top classes. There's an asian girl in her year and last term they were in the same homeroom, art and french but no other classes, and I think they get the same bus sometimes. My daughter said they chat a bit on the bus but that's about it so they don't know each other very well. She also ended up in all the top classes.

This is what she said to my girl....

you know, I thought you were as dumb as a post because in art and french (two subjects my daughter switches her brain off in) all you do is hang out with the sporty girls and act like a clown and all you talk about is surfing and sport and your Insta feed is full of pics of you surfing and skating.

My daughter replied, well with me you get all this...and brains too :P :P :P

I don't think Asians are smarter than any other race. I think their culture makes them more disciplined. That discipline yields better results on tests. Some would call it wisdom.

My mom is not very intelligent, but she is very disciplined. She frequently pulled all nighters studying to get through college. My brother and I tutored her through college as we had already graduated. She worked until she understood the subject and is very smart and educated, but it is from hard work and discipline more than raw intelligence. She has considerable talents. Her Bachelor's degree is in Geo Information systems and she worked her way up from being a secretary to running the construction services department of a large school system. She can type 110 wpm, take dictation by shorthand, cross reference massive databases to efficiently plan school construction and attendance zones, make quilts, cook, grow and preserve fruits and veggies, among many other things. She was once one of the best 3rd basemen in women's softball in the city of over 100000 people when I was growing up. Whatever she puts her mind to, she studies it until she is an expert. She did the taxes for my dad's business and was a Notary Public. She interacts well with people and has a knack for making herself invaluable in a work setting. After she retired, her school system had to subcontract all that she did and it cost them $500,000/year for about 3 years to replace her until they found a qualified replacement. There is not much she can't do other than being limited by physical health. She's in her mid 70s now.

My dad is the intelligent one, but he never graduated high school. He ran his own construction company for 50 years and employed dozens of people. He is a skilled carpenter and could construct unbelievably complex roofs and figure and order exactly what he needed to build a house with almost no waste. He understands things quickly and has very good common sense. He is not much of a people person and never pursued education, but he is very intelligent, honest, and hard working.

That's how I see the difference between Asians and other "races".

Much respect to your mother. She has done remarkably. Sometimes it can be easier to put in the hard yards study wise when we are older because we have less distractions and more motivation.

Those who sit back and whinge that they were held back only have themselves to blame. The sky is the limit if we have the guts and dedication to go after it.

It also gives us the social skills to succeed which the asians generally lack.
