Yes Brian I am well aware of who I am talking to. Sensible, well balanced people. The only bias I see is yours.

How, because I present the reality, rather than the unreality? The UN Arms Trade Treaty is no threat to private gun ownership. QED.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 3:40 pmYes Brian I am well aware of who I am talking to. Sensible, well balanced people. The only bias I see is yours.

No because you just had to add your usual name calling and ill conceived judgmentsbrian ross wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 3:42 pmHow, because I present the reality, rather than the unreality? I tell it how I see it, Black Orchid. Gun nuts are gun nuts. Nothing ill conceived about what I have said, either. Their problem is that they, like you, take it all too personally...

I like my Austrian guns. My wife's Brazillian Bersa is her favorite. It's a tack driver. She named it Raul Mateo. We got into the habit of naming our carry guns so that my children when younger wouldn't ask where my gun was in public. "Where is Carrie?" Sounds better when you are standing at a restaurant cash register. I named my Kimber "Emma". She is my current EDC.brian ross wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 3:23 pmYou do realise you're talking to American gun nuts, don't you, Black Orchid. They have, well shall we say, a rather biased view of anything to do with gun control measures. In reality, the UN Treaty had nothing to do with private firearms ownership, it was primarily aimed at the trade in firearms.
Will the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty infringe on our right to keep and bear arms?
Trump has effectively kyboshed the idea that firearms should not be traded between nations. He has effectively ended the US only firearms trade in the US which the treaty promised. Now, wasn't Trump originally for the promotion of US industries? He's now removed the most effective barrier to the trade of European firearms within the US Market. I wonder if the US firearms makers will be thanking him in two years time?
The UN has no businesses having any authority over my country. It's a slippery slope that I don't intend to go down. Especially since we are paying 22% of their budget.

hey Tex I am thinking about the gorgeous baby being confronted by a normal every day AMerican robber
whos weapon of choice is a GUN....
no one can out run a speeding bullet can they...
America makes an enormous amount of money from selling GUNS to other countries....
they have even been known to sell them to their enemies..
I personally do not see any harm in trying to stop the spread of guns and war machines from destroying this world of ours.
American have a very unusual affinity with death and destruction....
guns seem more precious than family in lots of cases......
I wouldnt go to America if you paid me.....

Re: US Takes Back Signature on Arms Trade Treaty
Criminals will never turn guns in and guns would come in from Mexico if they were outlawed and confiscated. We have a 2000km border with Mexico. That would leave only criminals with guns. I don't go looking for trouble, but at least I have a fighting chance if confronted and the fact that "victims" may be armed is enough to make many criminals move on to safer hunting grounds or even safer "professions". That gorgeous baby would also be vulnerable to knives, clubs, and groups of thugs. A gun makes my defense of her and the rest of my family possible. My wife couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag, but having a gun is an equalizer for women and elderly. I'm not asking you or anybody else to come to America or carry a gun. It's a personal decision that shouldn't be taken lightly. If you are prone to getting into trouble, a gun will multiply your trouble. I've carried a gun for 10 years and nobody has ever seen it. I hope that continues for the rest of my life. I work in rough neighborhoods at all hours of the night and having a gun makes me more safe. Just the possibility that I might have a gun sometimes keeps me safe and unarmed people as well.cods wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 7:55 amhey Tex I am thinking about the gorgeous baby being confronted by a normal every day AMerican robber

Re: US Takes Back Signature on Arms Trade Treaty
more people own a gun in America than in any other country....
I am originally from England and guns were never ever an issue...no one ever wanted one..
its the same here in Australia it really is only a few that find a need to own one..
wouldnt it be a good idea to make it HARDER for criminals to get their hands on guns....
as it is from where we sit they have no such problems in yoru country...
its as easy as asking any kid on the street.. where can I get a gun.....
its stupid.. I have always said when the founding fathers wrote the constitution with blunderbuss and gunpowder in mind..
they did not for one moment envisage what was to come......... and I am sure they would have rephrased it had they had even the slightest inkling....
your country is riddled with crime.......so your guns have stopped nothing.
