Welcome, mate. You know of course that Texas isn't the biggest state in the Union? Another American is always welcome but don't be surprised if you hear your nation being criticised from Downunder. We appreciate it's efforts but sometimes, it just goes too far...Texan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 1:35 pmNewb here. As the name states, I"m from Texas. I'm pretty conservative. I'm a military veteran, married with 3 sons, one of which is currently in the US military, I carry a gun everywhere legal, and I have 10 chickens that I keep for the eggs. I live in an unincorporated area about 50 km South of downtown Dallas. I'm a senior field engineer. I repair solid state uninterruptible power supplies for a living.
I post on 3 political forums and have the same name on all 3. I was invited to this forum and I guess I'm just curious how opinions differ on the other side of the world. I'm pretty much an open book. I'm opinionated and very set in my ways. I typically vote Republican, but I usually vote against the incumbent in the primaries because most national politicians are scumbags and more often than not I feel like I am voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I look forward to getting to know ya'll.

Howdy, Texan! You're not the only Yank in the ranks -- I'm a native Hoosier.Texan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 1:35 pmNewb here. As the name states, I"m from Texas. I'm pretty conservative. Your views sound similar to my own, so I'll enjoy hearing your perspectives on various topics. I'm not a card-carrying member of either party, and in fact am anything but a fan of the D.C. political establishments. I suppose I'd describe my own politics as somewhere between Reagan conservative and libertarian.
(And by the way ... yes, you do hear the U.S. occasionally criticized around here, but -- to use an expression you've undoubtedly heard -- with certain individuals it's a case of big hat, no cattle.)
Just got here a few days ago myself (although I already knew a few of the folks on here), so a hearty welcome from the land of basketball and auto racing!

I'd be interested in seeing a herd of kangaroo. Someone's pet wallaby got loose in Dallas last month and it made the news. Our marsupials look like overfed rats with sharp teeth. (opposums)

Rather a poor showing, compared to how it was described herds would cover the landscape in their tens of thousands.Texan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 2:30 amThe Americans are coming!The4thEstate wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 12:07 amWe're starting to overrun this place, Nicole!Mistress Nicole wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 6:29 pmWelcome Texan.
