Well, here in the ACT, I won't have much choice as preferences go as to which party I will put last. ALP? Greens? Australia Progressives? I haven't checked the line up for the Senate yet, but "traditionally" Canberra with only 2 Senators usually vote 1 ALP and 1 Liberal.

I blame "compulsory" voting (yes, Bwian, we ALL know that ). Most people care less and only vote because they could be fined (still only $20 in a Federal Election, differs in State Elections).

Why do you think the likes of Bullshit Bill is announcing billions of dollars of OUR taxpayers money for just about everything?

Lots of people only watch The Evening News for the weather and sports results. Hip pocket effect with the ads ... "wow, Bill is offering FREE dental" must vote for him" types. NOTHING is FREE ... to pay for all this, Bullshit Bill has to sell something, perhaps, or borrow more money from China, or something.
