Tilley's has reformed. The last time I visited Canberra a few years ago, all restrictions had been lifted. It was now, just a normal cafe with an interesting past. Lesbians are now accepted as a normal part of the community - as they should be. They no longer felt the need for a "safe space".

She has, hasn't she. Things are clearer than just her usual attacks on transgender people for competing in sport and other things. I still fail to see what the problem is with transgender people competing in sport. They are as rare as hen's teeth and in doing so, they make it a little harder for women. Women seek equality, surely competing against transgender people propels that desire? The Reboot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 11:57 pm
BO has just outlined her views on the subject and nowhere does that translate to "taking over the roles of women".
I think your sample is too small on which to make any assumptions, Reboot. Some transgender people identify as "lesbian". Most however appear not to. Few if any appear to be paedophiles, which is what was implied by their presence in women's toilets. The slurs against transgender people continue though and they are IMO symptoms of homophobia. Until they cease, I will continue to label them as homophobic. If people don't like that, they should cease making them, don't you think? You know, it's quite amusing how you attempt pick apart others for making assumptions and accuse them of the various "phobias" and "isms" and yet you do this exact same thing. Somehow, in your demented mind, you believe you're the mascot of morality and intellectualism when in reality you are no better than the Islamo/Homo/Trans/phobes you continue to accuse everybody else in being.
Case in point -- in the very post I am responding to -- you whine about me making a claim that transgenders are pedophiles "no basis" you say.
Then in the same instance you claim they are "primarily interested in blokes".
Well gee, that's funny. In my lifetime I have met only one female to male transgender that liked blokes to the point she is keeping her cock because she hates women and thinks vaginas are a symbol of disease and disgust. "She" also favours men over women, ignoring transphobic comments made by other men because she thought they were "hot" and then slinging horrid insults to other women.
I have met two other male to female trans both identifying as "lesbians" in addition to my friend's sperm donor who is also "lesbian".
Gee, for somebody who claims to be the pillar of political correctness, you certainly seem ignorant to the point you assume transgenders "primarily" like blokes. You better be careful amongst the LGBTIQ crowd, they *will* be offended if you made that claim to them, and they will brand you a homophobic/transphobic bigot. Funny that.
It's also hilarious that you think a justice system that allows pedophile's identities protected and lets them out onto the street in areas with families is fair. It wouldn't surprise me if your "centre left" ideology included pedo rights. "But they're victims! It's the evil white patriarchy's fault."

I have a problem with transgenders competing in WOMEN'S sport. They are taking college scholarships, designed to help women, away from women. They are taking wins in WOMEN'S international sports away from women along with the life changing benefits that go with that.
Women have a smaller lung capacity, a man's leg has about 80% muscle as opposed to 60% in a woman, women have 20% less blood volume, women's cardiac output is 10% less than a mans, men have more lean muscle mass, men have 40% more muscle mass in the upper body and 33% more in the lower body. So no matter how much you spin your twisted "transgenders have overcome evolution" line a dress, a wig and a few hormones does not a woman make!
What they do in their own time I care not but I object to them taking away incentives/scholarships designed to help real and under privileged women who might otherwise never have the opportunity to advance. I would be all for a transgender category in sport but I will never accept muscly transgenders competing against women.
Your lies and slurs disgust me.
Could you be anymore outlandish? Perhaps we should make men compete against horses.Women seek equality, surely competing against transgender people propels that desire?

Except it's not really "equal" if the transgender has an advantage, is it? Especially in contact sports like AFL and rugby.brian ross wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 10:25 amShe has, hasn't she. Ha, nice backflip there. First you said "they are primarily into blokes" now it's, "Oooh some of them identify as lesbians". My point in all of this is -- being transgender doesn't automatically equate to same sex attraction (prior to becoming "trans"). Gender and sexual orientation are not mutually exclusive.
It's still not homophobia. If you want to put a label on it, it's "transphobia", and it doesn't prove the initial point - that BO is "homophobic".
I'd suggest make sure you know what you're talking about before jumping on your high horse.

"Equality" is not about things being completely equal, Reboot. It is about making things nearly equal. Thugby and Aussie rules are full contact sports. Players with bigger bodies will always have the advantage in both male and female versions of the sports. Perhaps you just want slender girls to play such sports? The Reboot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 12:22 pmExcept it's not really "equal" if the transgender has an advantage, is it? Never claimed they were, Reboot. I thought you'd appreciate that I have read your comments and taken them onboard. Some transgender people still desire women but differently. Have you even been with a transbender person? No, don't answer that, it is too personal, isn't it?Ha, nice backflip there. Why else make the comments unless she is phobic towards gay people, Reboot? Her comments were mean and demeaning, just as was Cods' and Neferti's. They all appear to dislike transgender people. It's still not homophobia. If you want to put a label on it, it's "transphobia", and it doesn't prove the initial point - that BO is "homophobic".
Oh, I generally do, Reboot, far more than I would suggest do my opponents...I'd suggest make sure you know what you're talking about before jumping on your high horse.

Going by that logic, all of our sports should be mixed gender, then."Equality" is not about things being completely equal, Reboot. It is about making things nearly equal. Thugby and Aussie rules are full contact sports. Players with bigger bodies will always have the advantage in both male and female versions of the sports. Perhaps you just want slender girls to play such sports?
For fuck's sake, I feel like I'm debating with somebody who has dementia Your first claim was "Transgenders are primarily interested in blokes, not kids." Now you are backflipping and pretending you never made that claim when it is plain to see in this very thread? Another thing you tend to do. Ignore the shit that suits you and backflip, hoping that nobody notices.Never claimed they were, Reboot. I thought you'd appreciate that I have read your comments and taken them onboard. Some transgender people still desire women but differently. Have you even been with a transbender person? No, don't answer that, it is too personal, isn't it?
And no, I've never been with a "transbender". What is that, a new gender being taught in safe schools?
I will address your question, seriously, however. Fyi, no I have not been with a transgender and never will. I'm not attracted to them, especially if they still have their peckers attached. I am also quite happy in my current relationship, with a natural born woman. That's not to say I consider them as second class citizens. I could easily befriend one. I just wouldn't want to have intercourse with one.
So now you bring Cods and Neferti into it?Why else make the comments unless she is phobic towards gay people, Reboot? Her comments were mean and demeaning, just as was Cods' and Neferti's. They all appear to dislike transgender people.
From a "politically correct" point of view, Cods is a nice lady and treats people respectfully despite being and voting conservative. The only insults I see from her is the odd rip on "lefties". I am yet to see anything that suggests she is "mean and demeaning" towards homosexuals.
Neferti holds similar views to myself and BO regarding transgenders.
Now, for the billionth time -- whatever views they hold on transgenders does not automatically equate to being homophobic.
Again -- gender and sexuality are not mutually exclusive. If you are going to label them with a "phobe" or "ism", use the correct term. TRANSphobic.
On first glance, it's convincing, I will give you that. But after a while.. it becomes clearly you're "roleplaying", which in the age of the internet, isn't hard to do.Oh, I generally do, Reboot, far more than I would suggest do my opponents...

If I were taxed an extra 18% because I'm a man, I'd take my money elsewhere. Apparently, I'm not the only one.

As you noted, the problem with accepting biological males as female athletes -- whether or not they've undergone surgery -- is that it shortchanges girls and women in the long run.
I saw a TV interview with an accomplished female high school track star who missed a chance to advance to her state track championship because two transgender athletes outran her. That could very well end up costing her a college scholarship, since she'll no longer have the opportunity to compete in front of the college track coaches and scouts who attend the finals.
I also have a problem with the squishy definition of transgender as currently applied. At least on my side of the pond, it can apply not only to a person who's undergone surgery, received hormone treatments, etc., but a person who simply "identifies" as the opposite sex. And that's problematic for me.
I mean, look, a biological male can put on a dress and call himself Gertrude for all I care; just don't expect me to stand idly by if he tries to enter the restroom, shower room or locker room of my 13-year-old niece. Really, how do we tell the difference between a man who truly wants to be a woman ... and a sicko who'll put on a wig and makeup just for the opportunity to watch little girls change clothes and shower?
As for athletes, it could reach the point of absurdity. What if the WNBA -- the women's professional basketball association in the U.S. -- decided to accept anyone who merely "identifies" as female? How ironic that a league created to provide greater opportunities for women could instead start fielding teams consisting entirely of biological males.
And I wouldn't put it past a few male basketball players (who weren't good enough to play in professional men's leagues) to claim transgender status as a way of making better money than, say, driving a truck.
