I remember being appalled that my American email friends considered Australia was "like America was in the 1950s". They had never been here and it made me angry. However, now I tend to understand what they were saying ... Australia was a SAFE place to live, even in Sydney and Melbourne you could go for an evening walk around the neighbourhood and feel safe. Now there "could be" some darkie lurking behind your recycle bin, just waiting for a female to wander nearby ... or male ... they don't seem to care all that much.

There are too many nig nogs and golly wogs for my liking.
I didn't feel safe on the train.
There were no protective service officers anywhere.

So-called protective service officers can't do anything much. These nig nogs run around in gangs ....

I travelled to work on the train in Melbourne and Sydney .... only problem I ever had was males who stood too close and rubbed up against me ... my brolly was useful, many times, to point out that I was NOT that sort of girl. It's amazing what the pointy end of a brolly can do to a shoe if pressure is applied.

They looked and sounded like gang members.
I put my sunnies on so that our eyes didn't have to meet.
