That is such a shame. Melbourne is my home town but I haven't been down there for a long time, so I guess I would notice the difference.

I lived in Sydney for 15 years and last time I went back there, a long time ago, that had changed too ....

I used to tell my American email friends that Canberra was mostly inhabited by Caucasians and, in fact, one day (some time ago) when I was at the Mall, sitting waiting for somebody, I counted the black people. In about 30 minutes I saw a couple of Indians, a African-American lady with a baby girl in a stroller and a huge black bloke ..... a few ladies wearing the hijab and lots of Asians .... but the crowds were mostly white. It is different these days and last time I was at the Mall, I lost count of the tinted ones.

More than 95% are tinted here in Melbourne.
