The Australian Electoral Commission has registered Fraser Anning’s new political party in a move that will allow the controversial Queensland senator to run candidates at the May election for the Senate and House of Representatives.
The AEC has confirmed to The Australian that it registered the new party yesterday. The move means that Senator Anning will not run as an independent at the May election and that “Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party” will appear on ballot papers.
The Australian has also confirmed that Senator Anning plans to run Senate candidates in most states as well as a range of lower house seats.
Under the AEC’s rules, a candidate or Senate group is eligible for election funding if they obtain at least 4 per cent of the formal first preference vote in the division or the state or territory they contested.
‘This has been a long process but it is a great relief that ‘Fraser Anning’s Conservative National Party’ is now officially registered,” Senator Anning told The Australian. “Today my colleagues had their say, now the Australian people can have theirs”.
The Australian understands that there were “14 written particulars” received by the AEC objecting to the registration of Senator Anning’s new party.
The National Party of Australia, the NSW Nationals, the Liberal National Party and the Australian Conservatives lodged objections.

Congratulations Senator Anning

I think the bulk of that is really good. I would hesitate however to water down our gun laws and I am pro choice on abortion.
That said, I would give them a vote sprint.

Well they can't put them all in jail, eject them all from parliament, put them all last in preferences or 'sting' them all.

They cannot put them in gaol unless they have broken a law, Black Orchid. They cannot "eject them from Parliament," because the only way to remove a sitting member from Parliament is by them losing an election. They cannot "sting them," without the MP/Senators or their staff seeking something naughty, now can they? You appear to believe in conspiracies.

I am proud to announce the Queensland Senate candidates for Fraser Anning's Conservative National Party.
Myself, Paul Taylor, Mark Absolon, Nancy Sandford, and Brad Cameron.
Each member of the team is a fantastic example of my party's principles. Each of them believe in the same ideals which led me to found this party, and I'm proud to have such a quality line-up for the Queensland ticket.
We will announce further candidates in the coming days
